Ditto what Janet said! In spring, fall, and winter, 5-7 times per week. In summer, when it's hotter, probably 2 to 3 times a week in the form of shorts or skirt.

It really is interesting how our temperature gauges differ. Denim feels way too heavy except for cool nights to me in the summer. But then I do not have air conditioning and work at home.

Jeans are only allowed at work on Fridays, so I'd say once or twice a week including Saturdays.

I'm with Janet and Suz - I'll wear denim at leat 5 times a week during fall, winter and spring, and hardly at all during the summer.

Having said that, I did find some lighter weight jeans at Target (thanks to Claire) that just *might* make the cut. They are much thinner than regular jeans and very comfortable (Mossimo Premium Flare jeans).

I will sometimes wear a denim pencil skirt in the summer, but truth be told - when it's approaching (or over) 100F, I don't even want denim shorts. If denim companies would come out with a lighter 'summer weight' denim, I'd wear more denim in the summer, but right now - as it stands - it's skirts, clam-length shorts and dresses all summer long in a *non* denim material.

The one exception is if I go back home for a visit (Vancouver BC) - I can easily wear denim in the summer there.

For the most part - I wear denim a lot, but not in the summertime.

About thrice a week in summer? Though for brief periods or in air-conditioned offices!

In winter, more like 5 times a week.

If I count all forms of denim, then I guess it would be 2-3 times a week. On Fridays for work, I tend to wear jeans, but not always.

Seven out of seven here, with boots, of course.

So interesting to read all of the responses! I'm chiming back in to say that I don't wear *jeans* during our hot summers (so many people said they can't wear denim in the summer because it's too hot), BUT a white denim pencil skirt? A chambray shirt waist dress? A cropped denim jacket (faded or white) for over a sundress in the A/C? In the humidity I find a denim jacket much less cloying than a sweater. I wear all of these and I'm pretty sure my climate is one of the hottest there is. I wonder if I really do run that cold, or if people are just thinking *jeans* and not all the different types of denim.

In the summer probably once or twice a week. On the fall and winter 4 or 5 times a week.

I wear jeans to work almost every day, as I work in a lab. Let's say I wear about 10 different outfits per week : 7 day ones and 3 going out ones. In the colder months, I would say 9/10 involve some denim, while in the summer that number would be more around 6-7.

I think Angie and I share the same body thermostat. I don't wear denim to work, but will don jeans when I get home. Since it rarely gets over the 80s in the summer here (Christieanne country), I can wear denim year around. I probably wear denim for at least part of the day 6/7 of the time, if not 7/7.

I wear some form of denim pretty much everyday - and sometimes 2 different outfits in the same day (that both have denim as part of their ensemble. ) Where I live, the weather never gets hot in the summer, so I can wear jeans year round if I want - but I try to change it up in the summer with skirts and dresses - but then, I'll usually pair it with a light-weight denim jacket or denim vest. I can't imagine NOT having denim in my life - I don't know what I'd do!!!

I wear denim pretty much everyday and that's year round too. Jeans aren't an issue at work so that makes my life easier. I wear dresses maybe once a month, generally at the temperature extremes--at least what passes for temperature extremes in Los Angeles.

So ladies - what if I said NO DENIM FOR A WHOLE WEEK. Could you do it?

It would be really hard, except in summer.

I could absolutely live without denim for a week!

Two years ago I didn't think I could survive without denim but now I know life beyond denim and it's not so bad. It's really interesting how my habits have changed because I can't wear jeans to work, and I'm totally okay with it. (And I used to wear jeans EVERY day. Big change!)

That would only be possible for me in summer/spring. I think I could do it. LOL, is that a challenge?

I could do no denim for a week, but would be incredibly difficult coming up with non-classic ways to wear non-denim pants to work. Usually I make dressy pants more me by adding some denim on top.

I could do it if I stayed in bed all week....

I wear denim in all seasons spring, summer, fall and winter (layered with tights). I would wear denim even to work but we r not allowed that...sigh.... So I would say I wear denim when I am not in my DARK work suit.

I am basically a jeans and tee girl so my wardrobe is filled with only denims and more denims. Leggings, skirts, pants, jackets you name it I got it in denims!!!!

Angie, please don't do that. I could not live without my jeans and tees.

I could do no denim for a week, provided the temps stay over 60.

No denim for a whole week? I might have to go shopping, unless it is cold enough to wear wool trousers. I think this conversation made me realize that it is much harder to find well-hanging light-weight trousers.

I am with the denim 5-7 days a week (though possibly for only a portion of the day) except in the summer. On cooler summer days (say under about 90) I'll wear clams. There is no way I'd be wearing denim at 110 degrees!!! At that heat all I'll wear is one of my 2 tiniest sundresses. We also do not have aircon.

As to whether I could go no denim for a week - probably. I have enough substitutes. Not so stylish though - I am sure jeggings for around the house look better than sweatpants!

I wear denim 5 times a week in winter and 2 or 3 times a week in the hotter months.

I could easily do without denim for a week right now. Impossible for me during the winter.

3 times a week ( friday and weekends)

I'm the same as ramrr - Friday & weekends so 3 times tops sometimes only 2 depending what I am doiing at work on Friday (which is our denim day).

I think I could do it;-)
Are you about to challenge us, Angie?-)

I think I could do it too, but it wouldn't be easy, because my only appropriate spring jackets at the moment are denim. I actually wear more denim in spring and summer, maybe four or five days the week - jeans, clams, shorts, skirts and jackets. I wear less denim in the winter because my got to outfit when it's cold are a skirt or dress, warm tights coat and boots.

Well Angie, We in ?India could do that easily right now...
It's so hot in here that our salwar kameez or leggings and tunics are our saviors

I wear denim to work only on Fridays, maybe once on the weekend and rarely change into it after work except in summer maybe denim shorts. My closet is pretty stocked so no denim for a week is easy (of course with any restriction once you make it an order it will seem like torture)

Yeah, I could bypass denim for a week. At first, I had an uncomfortable moment thinking of it but I could wear my sweat jog pants and I guess since it might be in the 80's this week, maybe my loose, longer twill shorts. My need is for safety - I have to look as though I live in the neighborhood and am not here wandering away from my car to
buy drugs: hence am possibly carrying too much money, credit cards, fancy phone....

I do wear nice clothes out in the neighborhood but only if the destination is short or I can time my outing to coincide with morning or afternoon school drop off and pick up when the streets are full of kids, parents, crossing guards, cops. (not a scary fantasy I thrill myself with because I was robbed a little over a year ago, a block from my house and my husband was almost beaten to death - we bought a car because of that)
