The CT Swap - YouLookFab Forum

Last Saturday was the Connecticut YLF swap, attended by Maya, Lisa, Bella, Medusa, and me. Also in attendance were Mr. Medusa and my dear SO, who offered his house for the festivities.

We were ready with food, clothing racks, and as many flat surfaces as we could clear for displaying swap goodies. SO downloaded the YLF app onto his iPhone, so many of you no doubt saw things unfolding as they happened. If you missed it:

All posted by SO, who also picked up our Maya from the train station.

Lisa and Bella arrived shortly afterward, and we unpacked, hung up, and otherwise displayed everything. Lisa brought a fabulous shoe collection and a number of items from the generous Auburn, who sent things even though she couldn't be with us, as did JulieinMI. Lisa also brought a fantastic array of cupcakes. Bella was the one participant I hadn't met before, and she is just gorgeous with and without sunglasses.

We restrained ourselves from swapping until the Medusas arrived, but we quickly got down to it after that.

If you haven't organized or attended a clothing swap yet, I highly recommend it! Even though our five participants are different sizes, everyone got some great items (see Maya's haul here: http://youlookfab.com/welookfab/topic/swap-goodies ) and we also ended up with a very nice array of items to donate to Dress for Success.

Bella -- the feeling is mutual. It was intriguing hearing about your dissertation as well, SO and I were discussing your topic later that evening.

Great write up (I forgot who brought Auburn's stuff, Maya?). The day was lots of fun, I am very thankful you hosted us April and hope we get to do another swap sometime.

Oops -- Lisa, did I have that wrong? I thought you had brought the items from Auburn.

Anne -- yes, Bella kept the Shiny dress (how could she not?) and even wore it that night.

Inge, if you have a magnifying glass, you can see the portion of the food that I actually prepared. Since SO and I are in different states, it was hard to get everything done from afar, so I went the super-easy route on food and we ordered most of it.

You can't tell from the photos, but it was actually a damp and dreary day. (Hosting an event on a rainy day? ACK -- curly girl's nightmare!)

Yup, I kept the dress and wore it on Saturday night. Actually, I got home, changed into the yellow dress, grabbed Lisa's blue scarf and left to see a show!:) And the next day, I wore the CK jacket and April's boots:!) Yup, I am thoroughly enjoying my new haul!
Oh, and I was Auburn's proxy. She sent them to me so I could bring them to the swap.
