Una, I know it sounds counterintuitive, but if I sized down, there would be a smaller armhole, and it would therefore hit closer up to my actual underarm. Right now, I have constriction because the armhole hits lower on my arm and so it cuts across near my bicep when I go to raise up. Make sense? Picture the exaggerated version of an armhole opening hitting halfway down your ribcage - there would be no rotation there - your arm would only move so far away from your body.
Knowing that you could size down if it weren't for your shoulders has me thinking I'll try it around the house today and decide if I should go down to a 4.

Wow, this is fantastic on you! I always think when YLF starts up a rash of ordering that's a good sign the item flattered the wearer!!

I hope you feel good about the fit now. It would be nice to try the other size just to make sure, but in terms of looks, this one is fab!

Late to the party but this looks good to me! I like this slightly boxier fit for motos - I don't think they should be skintight. My black leather moto jacket does the arm thing a little too but it's softened up enough that it feels fine now. I would not have wanted to size down because I don't think the smaller one would have zipped up.

Mo, if it helps you any, when I tried on Muubaa I needed a size 2 because the 4 was too big on my shoulders. The one I tried on was supposed to be more fitted, though. Hopefully that gives you some idea, since we have the VS jacket in common.

Thanks Rae, I am thinking I will try the 4. If I hike the jacket up on so my arms fit at the right part of the sleeve, there is plenty of extra shoulder room. And I can cross the front at least an inch overlap where it zips.

EDIT: ARGH. Of course there is always a catch . . . if I return the 6 I have to wait for the credit to be applied before I can order the 4. Which means it may sell out before that happens. In which case I won't have a 4 *or* a 6!!

Oh noes! Is there anyone out there in YLF Land who needs a 6? Maybe they could get the 4 and then trade with you?

I can hope! I'll be holding on to this one for sure until and unless a trade comes around.

I just wanted to say how gorgeous that color looks on you! I hope you can get the sizing issue worked out!

Hey Mo, just to clarify, I could have sized down but it would have been a tighter fit, and as I said in your other thread I prefer cropped items a little looser. I know you like a close fit so it can't hurt to try one down, unless you end up
liking this one better. FWIW mine has not stretched much but has confirmed. Not sure it would need to stretch though since it's not tight.

Oops just saw your edit. I am at the cabin but will check my armholes when I get home
To see if I think size would make a difference. Body quirks sure make things interesting sometimes... I didn't even think to measure that part!

I don't mind the fit here. And this color is gorgeous on you. You wear blush and pastel tones quite well.

Very late to the party - but what a fabulous jacket on you Mo! I love the blush colour, and I think the size you got fits just perfectly. Agree with the comment upthread re: a slightly boxy fit in a moto jacket is very fab.

What a great jacket you got! Just fabulous on you!!

It sure seems like you're very, very good at researching, really thinking about what you'll get and then seizing on just the perfect thing. You did that with the suit you got too...you're good at this

Now, if fall can just start right about now, then we'll be set...right?

When does fall start where you are anyway? December? ....*kidding*. That said, you have done very, very well ...love this jacket on you!

I think the 6 looks really good as is, Mo. Definitely a keeper.

Unfortunately they cancelled my order for the size 8 -- oh well, I just spent that money at the NAS presale

Okay, confession time: I ordered the grey. And I'm not sorry. I would have gotten it instead of the blush had it been on sale then. I love the blush one too.

Mo, have you settled on this size now? I think it's right for you!

Oh no on the cancelled order!! Hate that.
I did settle on this size . . . mostly because I was not willing to risk having the 4 sell out while I waited for credit on the refund. I am happy with my choice and know I'll have years of love with this one
Una, can't wait to see the grey one, too! Ooh, duplicating leather - that's a big step up from knit tops lol.

Go, Team Duplicates! Una, mebbe this jacket will become a part of your "uniform" kind of like the equipment blouse?

Mo, I'm glad you kept this one and did not risk a sell-out. It would have been tragic to be jacketless because of what-might-have-been with a size 4, especially since you like the looks of the 6.
