The company is in Southern Germany, and the clothes themselves are manufactured in Turkey.

That’s not Berlin, obviously. There are strong links between Turkey and Berlin—I don’t know if it’s still true, but for years, Berlin had more Turkish residents than Istanbul. But it isn’t the EU, so it doesn’t have the worker and environmental protections. Erdogan’s regime is not one I want to support.

This is more work than I’ve ever put into buying a skirt, but I think it will get much easier once I decide what “local” means to me.
