The boot search failed, but these are calling me...

I did - they were too wide - even laced as tight as possible. I thought that might be okay, but I decided it looked weird to have lace-up boots with a gap.

I think I'm going through a phase of being happy with my style and embracing it. Easily mistaken for stagnating, though!

It's only stagnating if it makes you feel stagnant! Otherwise it's a "signature."

Too bad about the MIAs. Sometimes I think having small ankles is even harder than having small calves. The Fryes would look cute on your petite peds - my feet would look like clown feet. Still vote to try the cognac, though. I don't think summer boots is a lost cause.

I need to be banned from the internet, because now I'm all aflutter over the tall version. I swear, I only clicked over to look at what people said about ankle fit! (word on the street is that the whole shaft is very narrow and no one mentioned baggy ankles).

I like the distressed black, too. Almost gray-ish - kind of reminds me of the finish on the UWP spat boots.

(Una the ones you linked up top are very likely NOT narrow in the ankle, it's built into that particular style. My motorcycle riding boots are this shape and they are SO FLIPPING WIDE there that it drives me batty. Just FYI )

These have gotten rave reviews on the Zappo site. It's interesting that they feel light weight because they don't look it. They look like they would be a match made on heaven for the RATE style.
