If anyone is interested in my "stepmother of the groom dress" search...

The positives: the Black Halo dress is well made, the fabric is beautiful, and it fits my body (it's a tad snug but I plan to get more serious about reining in my eating habits this spring). The length is great too.

Now for the negatives: it has no stretch so it's not terribly comfortable, I don't love this neckline on me, and the sleeve length is unfortunate -- see pic 3 for the original length, I folded it under for pic 1, since a shorte, more angled cap sleeve works better on me. Sleeve alteration would be pretty simple.

All in all, I like it, but I don't think this is "the one." I was prepared to be disappointed and this is more successful than I expected, but I am hoping there is a more perfect one out there. Two colors of the Tadshi Soshi are on the way, and a couple of other options from Zappos. I'll try to make finds of them when I have a moment.

The Kut dress was awful, not even worth photographing, and is already packed up for return -- neckline was awkward, sort of a high crew neck, and the cap sleeve was not really even a sleeve. Maybe it would be better on someone with a narrower shoulder line.
