Hi! I have read YLF religiously for at least five years, but seldom post except during NAS. Last year I even posted pictures! I didn't have the time for that this year, but I did want to throw out my opinions on a few items while the feeding frenzy was still happening. I'm a municipal employee that means I'm a low to mid-budget buyer and my business attire is casual. So, listed below is what I ordered and the result. Hope it is helpful!
BLANKNYC Life Changer Moto: I ordered this in the "Just Pine" color. Nice color that looks like advertised. Best faux leather I have run into. Nice and soft and absolutely no funky smell. Jacket ran a tad large in my opinion and the sleeves were too long. There are zippers on the sleeves so it would be difficult to alter. DH was not impressed "it's just a motorcycle jacket, nothing special". It is a really nice jacket , just not my jacket. Returned.
BLANKNYC Own the Night Bomber: I live in North Florida. We have relatively little cold weather or at least not enough to merit all the jackets/coats and their cost that I would love to own. I limited myself to only one this year and this is the one. This is very cute! Not real feminine, but that's not my usual style. Goes great with my silver hair and the Vans (see below). This still ran a tad large, but sleeve length was better. Keeper.
Vans Classic: I was apparently born with Van's slip-on sneakers on my feet. I've worn them for years even before they were cool. To my disappointment, these look less like wool tweed and more like the knit that they are. Oh well, they look great with the jacket! And they ARE Vans! They go with lots of things in my winter closet. TTS. Keepers.
Halogen Flare Sleeve Sweater: I usually have such good luck with Halogen. Not this year! This was almost comical to see on. WAY to large. Sleeves WAY to long. I decided the sleeves were too fussy for me to try to figure out the right size. Bye-bye.
Wit & Wisdom Split Release Hem Jeans: I anticipated having to return these from an earlier post in the forum. I found them to fit me well and were quite flattering in the petite version of my regular size. I am on the cusp of petite and regulars usually. They are a thinner denim which works well for my climate. I like them a lot! Keeper!
CeCe Bow Trim Tipped Sweater: Nice fabric. Fit well in my regular size. Not much to say...cute in kind of a retro way. Keeper.
Halogen Kick Flare Pants: IMHO, these are not the same as last years pants. Admittedly, I ordered the petite this time rather than the regulars I got last year. Angie told me to hem last years (I'm a bad girl an never did...but i liked them longer on me). They are much shorter that I anticipated and snugger than last years model. I ordered the grey and the navy. I may try to reorder in the regular and size up, but I may just move on. Returned.
Dolce Vita Marra: I ordered these in silver and in the grey suede. The silver pair were scratched on the shaft before I removed them from the box, so that spoiled those before even trying them on. I must have the tough feet Angie talked about in her review today. I thought they were pretty comfy. The silver pair were ever so slightly larger than the grey suede. I have lots of metallic silver shoes and even have the Halogen Corbin Slides on their way in silver so the grey suede booties earned a spot on my shelf. I may have to retry those grey halogen kick flares with these. Hmmm. Keepers!
As I mentioned, I have the Halogen slides (sized up) in the calf hair and the silver and the Vince Bell Sleeve Sweater (sized down) on my way too. I hope my comments can help someone :-).
