I had hoped to get back to our storage locker in Tampa long ago. My sister and a friend of mine recently hit it up to send us kitchen things, my son’s Lego, boots for me, and a bunch of clothes that mostly fit now. Yaaaaaaay
Now I get to sort it all out to see what parts I actually want. Some items are clearly too dressy for this moment, but might be appropriate by the end of winter—I hope to get back to a life where I can wear the dressy dresses by then. Some items fit better than others. I don’t need to sort for that—as long as they’re in the ballpark, I’d ratherassess that in the morning as I’m getting dressed instead of assuming that my bod won’t change again—I’m sure it will. Going through the clothes, even more than the kitchen stuff, was a walk down memory lane. But I don’t need to be that for people I pass on the street. Even in an era of DYOT, some items just might not work. For the pants, especially, please help me decide whether they are something that fits in this year, and possibly make suggestions for items that seem particularly difficult.
Note: halfway through taking the pix, I realized the dustpan and brush were in the background. Please ignore them. Also, I’m wearing the same base layer in all of these—my sparkly Uniqlo Heat Tech tights and a cami with built-in shelf bra. If it bothers you to see such things, it’s best you click on through to the next post.
PS. I broke this into several posts, because it’s just too many pix otherwise. They all have the same text before the picture lists.
I tried to swing my hips in the wool & knit skirts, to show their “swish”.
1 would’ve liked me to keep the Reiker boots.
2&3 oops—hidden
4&5 is a dress I bought when my son was a baby, thinking it’d be great for running around town. The first time I put it on, he wanted to nurse before we left the house. I took it off, haven’t worn it since.
6 is a black cotton sundress with a lower neckline than my cami. I’ll have to take another pic closer to summer.
7 suede
8 I can’t picture wearing such sparkle right now.
9 black velvet lbd. I remember wearing it to dinner with my parents. <3
10 I want to wear in a RATE way—red boots? A belt?
11 swish-swish, and lightweight
12. My mom thought this was an office girl dress when she got it for me. I wore it for much dressier things than that.
13 features in one of the fantasy capsules I’ve been building, paired with these very tights. I’m glad it fits, in case the scenario I imagine for it ever comes to pass, lol
14 I loved this skirt, couldn’t walk away even though it seemed impossibly small. Really hope for chances to wear it next summer!
15 has lots of acrylic in the knit, so the waist lacks elasticity. But I still love the rest of it, willl probably just keep hem covered when I wear it.
16 linen, should probably be put away til spring.
17-19 are the same dress now & 20-some pounds ago.
20. Not a dress for now, but soon—just a bit more bulge to go.
21 was bought when I was in 7th grade, to be shared with my sister. It’s all wool. I don’t have half-slips anymore; think I could get it lined?
22 I was planning to wear next weekend, for an event that’s just been Covid-canceled. Someday!
23 more suede, this time from LLBean
