The Benetton SA was stunned today...

...when I didn't buy one single thing. I was there for 1 1/2 hours and tried on maybe 20 -25 items. None were really perfect, so I left the store without buying something. This would have been unthinkable some time ago. Now I try to buy only things that I like 100% and I don't get much understanding when I shop with other people. Sounds familiar?

I love that feeling, to walk out of a shop empty handed and be happy. Then to walk out a store with something is exhilarating because I know it's perfect x

I get a teeny little thrill when I walk out of a store with nothing: it makes me feel like I'm in control of my style journey, not the store's marketing team! Good for you, and savor that feeling!

"shop more, buy less" is one of Isaac Mizrahi's gems in "How to Have Style". I think of the trying on as the research/fact-finding part of my journey, and as Heleen alluded to in a previous thread, I try not to take it personally if I don't find anything :).
