I love seeing all the finds and examples. Unfortunately I am too lazy to take any photos. My accessories for winter are 1) a lot of knit hats - the ones that have a fleece lining or partial lining are my favorites because they’re coziest. It does bug me that my hair doesn’t show, like Suz. But I’ve come to appreciate being warmer in the wind. Often I’ll take a hat in the car and just wear it on the way home.
2) several scarves of the acrylic “cashmere” variety, plaids, stripes, and kind of a fleecy furry red one. I wear them indoors, too, so they more often match my sweater rather than whatever hat I’ll choose later to go out. One is cashmere, kind of a washed red, and is the favorite workhorse. One is wool plaid, kind of a jarring bright blue, white and red, and has fringe down the sides rather than on the ends, and is a little itchy. It’s super warm, but rarely worn. I don’t ever wear silky or gauze scarves with my winter outerwear.
3) gloves and mittens, at least one pair for every coat and jacket. They coordinate with the dressy level and activity use for the coat.
4) bags - not a factor since I use the same bag for weeks or months on end. Currently a nylon fabric burgundy which is a little bigger than I like, but it works for taking a book or iPad for waiting for DH to finish pickleball, after my workout at the rec center.
In conclusion: my accessories only match or coordinate because my preferred colors are compatible and I don’t like them to clash with my outfits or coats, and/or it doesn’t matter to me much if they don’t match. Keep me warm and neat is all I ask, I guess.
