My one 'vintage' garment is a LBD that my mother wore in the 60's when she was in her 20's. She wasn't one to hold onto garments, so I don't know why she held on to this one. She gave it to me for 'dress up' when I was 17 and I wore it to a costume party (Gatsby Girl). It has been worn a couple of times every decade since - for New Year's or Christmas parties.
The straps are in need of stitching down, and the zipper needs repair or replacement. There are some places where it is pinned in, and was this way when I got it. My question to you, and to the sewers...the zipper is silver coloured metal. Should I have it replaced with a black zipper, or should I keep the original zipper that is authentic to the piece?
Unfortunately there are no identifying labels - not even a size!
