The 2 NAS dresses, plus one

Here are the two NAS dresses, plus one old Anthro dress I am wearing today. I am trying to decide if I should keep both NAS dresses. At this point the tags are still on both. Here is the background:

- Well-fitting dresses are incredibly hard for me to find
- As a result I don't wear them often
- But, I'm becoming an empty nester and see more date nights on the horizon
- To my eye, both fit well, and both have long sleeves which is great for my climate
- But they do bust the budget for a while
- Finally, I've been wearing dresses more lately (including this old Anthro dress, which may be ready to pass on - a smidge short in the front, and starting to hang funny)

They both look terrific on you. I think it would be shame to let either of them go given how long you have searched for excellent dresses and the upcoming date nights!

Wow, I love both on them on you!

If I were in your situation (not a frequent dress wearer), I would keep one. If you wear it often enough, I'd add another in the future. But I tend to go minimalist.

Traci, the shoes are these below (I pinned the Find). I bought them on a lark at the beginning of the summer and they have been great! They were an expensive impulse buy -- out with DD, who convinced me to buy them ... that is always dangerous! But I haven't regretted the purchase because I have worn them so often. Really comfortable and a great way to jazz up an outfit. So versatile. I've worn them with shorts, jeans, and dresses.

Meredith, the tags are not quite off the print yet, so I could still decide to return it. But I know what you mean about the Anthro dress. I am on the brink of ripping it off my body. It feels so wrong. I think its time has definitely passed.

I really like both of them on you. I like the Vince a tiny bit more because of the waist line being a little poofy on the HH one.

Looking at the stock photos, I never thought that Vince one would hang so well. Now I'm tempted to get it myself.

I've been in dress wanting mode, too. Actually I am doing a personal challenge this week to see if I can wear a dress or skirt every day for seven days in a row. Because I go through 3/4 of the year moaning that it is too cold to wear them, and yet I have been ratting around in shorts a lot lately.

Oh, wow -- that Vince dress is spectacular on you!! Absolutely keep it.

I love the other one also. I do have one tiny question -- will you wear dresses as often in the fall/ winter? I have a problem finding the right hose/ footwear -- even for date night. This might be unique to my situation; we're almost always walking wherever we go so I need some actual warmth. I just find that for me, dresses and skirts are largely part of my spring/ summer wardrobe and not so much the late fall/ winter -- which is half the year, in my case.

In fact, that's probably the main reason why I prefer spring/ summer/ early fall dressing. .

I might experiment a bit more with shoes/ hose and see how these work for that, unless you think you'll be going on a date per week in the spring/ summer/ very early fall.

Oh wow. I don't know what I would do either. Well, yes I do, so I'll keep my mouth shut. I'm with Lisa in being so impressed with how well the Vince dress hangs and how much better it looks on you than on the Nordstrom model. That colour is just so good on you too. They are both so beautiful, but if I had to pick one, it would definitely be the Vince. Now I really need those sandals too. I went back to try them on about a week ago, but my size in both colours were gone. Not sure what is going on with the Anthro dress - it looks too big on you. ?

You look fabulous in both of the dresses! I was especially interested to see the Haute Hippie shirtdress as I have the stud detail one in the same fabric - gorgeous fabric in my opinion.

I say to keep both dresses. You've been looking for the perfect dress for a long time - without success until now. You'll be having more opportunities to wear dresses, and it would be nice to have a couple of options, right?

Wowza! Those NAS dresses each work beautifully for you. Gorgeous fit and styles. It's not a fair fight for the Anthro.

Now the one or both question: I'd answer it by keeping it real as to how much wear each would get, given lifestyle and climate. Additionally, I'll add that on items as distinctive as dresses (as opposed to say, black straight legs), I have at times regretted doing all my updates in close time proximity, as they all feel tired or dated simultaneously or I wish I could justify trying a different silhouette. In this case, it might be the shirt tail hem being that variable. So there's a potential reason for choosing only one if you want it; if not, both are worthy contenders. I particularly love the Vince on you and think it would get a lot of wear. Can't lose either way: these are your dresses!

They are both so beautiful on you and I like them way better than the Anthropologie dress. If you had to choose one to keep I'd go with the Vince. That color is amazing on you.

I would pick one.
All the dresses look fabulous on you. I don't see any problem with the anthro dress, but I know that I'm not that picky about skirt lengths.
In the photos the maroon dress seems to look slightly more elegant. Could you wear it in the summer and fall maybe?

These both look amazing on you-- you glow. I would be hard pressed to tell you not to keep one or the other, but these are the type of dresses that people in my area are always lacking to wear to a gallery opening or a wedding (since most of our local weddings are casual and daytime). I could see the burgundy doing double duty with leggings and a cardi in a similar color, but only if it wouldn't loose the "special" factor. As long as your comfortable your closet will have you covered for day-to-day life until your budget rebounds.

Angie has been encouraging me to try that Vince dress but I wasn't interested because the Nords color on my screen looks kind of rust red. In your picture the color looks more wine red. Could you describe the color for me? Rust would be not good for me, but a cooler wine red tone might work.

Peri, it is definitely a blue-red, more of a wine or deep berry. Not at all rust. I would try it if cooler tones work on you.

The red dress is simply spectacular - my favorite here - but they both look great. If you see more use for going out clothing in your close future then why not keep both if it does not break the bank?

The first two both look great, you should keep them! The 3rd looks more casual to me. It still looks good, just less dressy.
