Thanks Angie! I'm a better shopper!

I know many of you have had the same experience but I just want to rave about how I felt I was such an efficient shopper this past weekend on a girls' trip to Las Vegas. We hit the mall, Nordstroms, and the premium outlet mall and it was funny to have my girlfriends constantly pepper me with questions about what's in, how does this fit, what would you buy, etc etc. I grabbed lots of things to try on, but kept in mind good necklines for me, skirt lengths, etc etc. I walked away with the Vince boatneck long sleeved T, VC midi tube skirt in black, 2 theory lanai blazers (which I recognized in name right away - and adore the fit!), 1 pair of theory white pants, 2 Vince tshirts, and 1 Vince cashmere sweater, and a super cute Bobeau orange top. I probably spent more money than I usually do but LOVE everything that I bought and felt like I got quality over quantity. This is 100% thanks to Angie, her suggestions, and what I've seen and learned on the forum. So thank you, Angie, and everyone here so very very much. I've been a bit scarce around here this week due to my little getaway, and might be scarce as school comes to a close and I have to organize and participate in lots of year end functions (wearing my new clothes!), but I had to pop in to show my thanks.

Are you a better shopper now as well?

Ooh, I love the sound of your haul! Vegas shopping is really good now, wish it was back when I lived there. My last trip I had not been on YLF yet so I mostly window shopped and saw it all as above my price range.
Today, I'd like to think I might follow your lead some. I'd probably buy half as much, but still. Nice going!
Coming here has made me a better shopper, and also made me aware of brands about which I had no clue before.

It WAS brilliant, Angie!

I was flattered that my GFs asked my advice, but felt even better that I often had the knowledge to back up my comments. For example, when I tried on the black Vince boatneck tshirt, they all loved it and wanted to try it as well. Then they couldn't figure out why it looked different on them. I was able to point out the fact that a boatneck suits long neck/small bust/narrow shoulders (like me). My bustier friend, however, can rock a v-neck like nobody's business. Oh, and each and every one of them is now going to order a VC tube skirt in black (I scooped up the last one - and after they tried it on at the hotel room they decided they had to have one too!!).

Fun stuff. I'm learning every day

Can't wait to see all your stuff! We will be tube skirt/ boat neck top near-twins (cousins, anyway...I have the skirt in navy and the tops in navy and white.)

By the way...on my thread yesterday...I wasn't perfectly clear. When you thought you saw "tube skirt" instead of shorts, you did, in the first photo of the dark bottom with paint splash top. I then (confusingly) showed the paint splash top with the shorts. So your eyes were not deceiving you.

I have become a much better shopper from being on YLF. And have gone from somebody who hated shopping to someone who quite enjoys it! It took me a a lot longer than it has taken you. I was a slow learner.

I can't wait to see your haul - it sounds brilliant. I also think it's really great that you gave Angie a shout out for her influence - she's amazing, has helped so many of us, and I often think we (okay, I) should let her know that more often.

Am I a better shopper? I'm not sure. I'm certainly a more FREQUENT shopper I've always been somewhat picky about how things fit, but went through a hiatus of not buying much, when the kids were little and I was spending all my disposable income on camera gear. Now I'm definitely more interested in clothes, and need to hone my "is this right for my life" and "do you really need this" skills.

Suz - too funny! I didn't realize you were actually wearing the skirt! My eyes were not deceiving me! We can be skirt/shirt cousins for sure!

ElizabethP - thanks for the link - I had already sent that along to my friends too :). I'd been to the Bay the week before bc I wanted to pick one up, but their VC stock was terrible! I was thinking of ordering online from the Bay but wanted to try it in person. When I tried it at Nordstroms in person I just had to have it right then....

Our Bay is not the best either, but it's great for retuning online purchases to When I went to try on the VC tube skirt, after seeing it on here, the sales clerk had not even HEARD of Vince Camuto!!!!

Oh, the black and white striped version of the VC tube skirt that is/was so popular on here is now on sale.
