Other recent posts having to do with closet purging have inspired me to do a purge. What started out as a mini-purge has turned into a massive purge, as I have already loaded up four LARGE garbage bags with clothes and shoes to donate and probably have another one or two to go. Most of my purged items haven't been worn in 3 to 7 years--YES, SEVEN YEARS!!!! I've moved three times in the last 7 years, so it's shocking to me that I've lugged some of this stuff around for that long!
The one thing I will note is that most of the items are in excellent condition. I think that this is why I've hung on to them. I hate waste.
Most items were a no-brainer--I didn't even have to think twice about. But the one rule I had to enforce upon myself for "in good condition" shoes--if they're not comfortable, donate them.
