I am jumping on the "buy them" bandwagon! If these have been a longstanding desire of yours, I think it's important to honor that. You have a very artistic side, and that side is speaking to you.
Since they are returnable, it's not the end of the world if they don't work out. And maybe once you get them, you'll decide that they aren't comfortable enough to warrant keeping them...but there's no way to know that unless you try. Once you've tried them, even if they don't work, you'll be able to stop obsessing about them.
And Angie is right that not everything in your wardrobe needs to be a workhorse, especially, in my opinion, shoes. Shoes can do amazing things for an outfit, but they're not always comfortable, so you wear them for occasions where you only need to be out for an hour or two. I have a few pairs of shoes that aren't very comfortable but that I absolutely love--and often get compliments on. They're a very important part of my wardrobe simply because they make me very happy when I do wear them.
