I love all the pieces here (the trousers and docs are brilliant), but have to admit that I'd like to see the trousers a little longer for this specific look. I would prefer the skin not to be showing here, e.g. in picture 3, they way you are standing, the trouser hem and shoe are touching on your right leg, and then it suddenly works for me. Hope that makes sense.

And do tell young lady, why wouldn't you wear that fab clutch?-)

Thankfully I have booties which rectify the length!

Sometimes it is good to push the boundaries and take photo before you decide to leave the house I could probably pull the trousers down further on the hip to gain the length required but could end up with a muffin top.

Inge, I felt the vibe of the clutch was off with such a sporty/ menswear look but I would be happy to be proved wrong.

R&J: I so hear you about lowering the waist and gaining midriff fluff! A high waist can be a girl's best friend! If the weather allows, you could roll the bottom of the pants a bit and scrunch the sleeves, perhaps? Love the docs and I like the sporty look. Now, I don't know how this plays in the UK, but here we might top it with a puffy vest.

Those blue Docs are wonderful and perfect for the colours of the outfit, but I wish they were either longer like Inge mentioned, or short enough to show your ankle bone and look more intentional. Their fit is fab and you have the lovely limb length to handle a bit of crop (if they stay tapered enough.

I love the idea of a clutch, but if you have a less dainty one, I'd probably try that. This outfit is strong and unfussy.

Wear the clutch Jules! It's the juxtaposition of a slightly dressy clutch with a sporty outfit that would make it work brilliantly.

That v-neck sweater is divine. I've been looking for my perfect navy v-neck since last year and still haven't found "the one" - good for you!

Like the others have mentioned, I would also prefer the pants to be a touch longer but since you mentioned your boots would rectify this, then off you go 'cause you look gorgeous!

Honestly, Jules, I love this on you just as it is. The length is not bothering me at all, and normally it would, so I'm not sure what magic you're working but I am under the spell! This reminds me very much of photos I've seen of how my mom would dress in the 60s (except maybe the pants would be plaid).

I LOVE the new pullover and your blue suede shoes!

This length of trouser is *very* fashionable, especially with the oxfords. It's a look I have a hard time with as you know. I just can't help but feel that the outfit would be so much better if you had a little more length on the trousers when worn with flat oxfords. FWIW, that's what my eye sees. I do like the skin peeking through though. And the column of colour does wonders to create a flattering line.

Laura, I love the sound of your Mum's plaid trousers, it is a very 60's look. Actually it kind of reminds me of when Megan in Madmen quit her job and stayed at home in casual wear drinking wine instead.

Thank you for the sweater love and for your suggestions for improving the look, I changed into jeans today as my booties are being re heeled. I am itching to wear both the trousers and sweater out of the house asap.

I have fallen for the ankle length and have regretted it. If this is so tricky for most to pull off, why do they tempt us so? I like this and would bet you are tall and it works for you. Wear them with confidence.

I love the look as is. The pant length doesn't bother me at all, at least not on you, and those shoes are so much fun, it would be a shame to banish them. If it works even better with ankle boots, great, but I would still miss those shoes.

I don't think the pants work at this length. They should be longer or shorter. Rolling them up would work, but not with those shoes IMO.

The trousers and shoes are quite divisive. I am going to air on the side of caution and pair them with booties and shooties.The trousers passed when worn this way.

IK, thank you for suggestion for rolling the trousers, unfortunately they are unlined i do not like the reverse side of the fabric.
