Tell me about Nordie's private holiday party

I just got my first invitation to the store holiday shopping event and am looking forward to it. If you've been to one, can you tell me what it's like? I'd love to know more about what to expect. Do they tend to be crowded? Is there a lot of new stock out? Do people shop markdowns at all? I know it starts at 7:30 pm (at my local stores); how long does the event go on for? And what's the scoop on the refreshments (my tummy wants to know!).

If you are a Nordstrom Rewards card member and spend what I'd call A LOT of money at Nordies using your Nordstrom card, you get special perks. One of them is access to the "invitation only holiday shopping party." With refreshments. Yum. I really have no idea what's in store, but I'm looking forward to finding out.

With 5 members in our family, I have definitely spent a pretty penny there, even with their fantastic sales.

I'm invited every year but I think I've only made it to one. I don't remember anything being on sale but the points rewards are good.
I've also discovered that I need to stay away from special events with free booze. Totally lowers my inhibitions and spend way more than planned.

Just kidding. Even though I spent way more at Nordstrom this year than I ever have before, I'm still going to end the year a Level 1 member. I actually don't know if I ever saw the full Rewards program chart detailing the specific benefits for each level - I guess I'm lucky that my local store allowed me to do the NAS pre-sale even though I am only at Level 1 status.

annagybe - that's their marketing strategy, you lose inhibitions and spend spend spend LOL. Sounds like a fun event though!

Anna, I saw the bonus points ~ very generous. And I figured some alcohol might be involved, for the exact reason you (and Isabella) mention.

Kari and Isabel, wish I could invite a whole troop to go with me, but I'm allowed only one other person with my ticket.

Ick about that woman dripping with designer labels and having to show them all off, Anna. Though I guess you'd have to be dressed head to toe in them to reach level 4. But spending that much money doesn't ensure good taste or style!

Sparky, that is a wonderful thought ! But I don't drink, though they could ply me with chocolate ( Hershey's at that ). And I am trying a modified SYCWAFE ( shop your closet with a few extras ).

HAVE a blast.

BTW, I just received the Gap's always skinny jean to go with my tunic !

Not many markdowns but they close the store and it's quite peaceful.
