Some of you may have read, and commented on my post regarding your special treat for 2010. I have another one planned for the coming weeks.

In the Uk we know of, and hate, the saying, "You can tell a Brit from his/her teeth". I hope that isn't true but I also know that escalating costs have meant that some people neglect going regularly to the dentist.

Here in the UK we do have NHS dentists but they are becoming scarcer on the ground. When mine retired I signed up with a private dentist and have noticed the difference! Teeth, however, need attention!

I still have most of my teeth : no dentures.and WW2 sweet and sugar rationing must, surely, bear some responsibility for this. However the colour over the years has deteriorated. I do like white teeth, a nice shade of white rather than teeth with a yellowish tinge. I am. therefore, planning to see my dentist and have my teeth whitened. So is my daughter.

We are having the gum shields fitted and syringes of gel to take home with us. I expect my daughter's teeth to respond better than mine, but I am also hoping for some improvement in mine.

Has anyone here had this done? Were you happy with the result? I know there are home kits but here in the UK there is a strict limit on the strength of the gel and users are not always happy with the end result.

I am posting an image taken today to show my (dark) teeth and my hair. (I was asked to post a photo of my hair style as it is now. Actually it is three days since I had my hair set and Sue is coming tomorrow!)

The orangey hue is the light cast by my salt lamp.
