Tee-shirt dresses.....a possible solution for casual summer days

I've really been craving some simple go-to outfits for casual summer days that don't involve matching tops and bottoms--or waistbands! When it's hot and humid, I get very sweaty so the simpler the clothing the happier I am. Temps are in the 70's today, but are supposed to reach the mid-90s by the end of the week (crazy, I know), but at least I'll be ready.

I tend to think like you do when it gets hot. Over the last two years, I've accumulated several knit dresses that keep me cool. I generally shy away from straight styles like you're modeling because they aren't as forgiving of my wiggly bits unless the knit is substantial or has spandex in it. I highly recommend this dress from Athleta. It covers the bra, which is must for me!

This is a great solution! These look fab.
I might be looking for one myself soon. If it's not completely blazing out I like adding a low slung belt and strappy flat sandals.

I may have to try it on too as long as it has a second layer to absorb the sweat. I had sweat showing through especially in a t-shirt.

Great solution! I also like to keep a couple lightweight jersey dresses for hot days (though I don't get many of them), and replace every couple years since their shelf life is short.

Thanks, everyone. I can't tell you what a relief it is to finally have some hot-weather dresses. A couple more are coming in the mail this week.....

Mo, I love your idea of the low-slung belt (if it's not too hot, of course).

Jean, they had a big selection of these dresses on the third floor of the BR in Georgetown. They are generously sized and have some striped patterned ones, too.

Naz, the two super-thin layers of the BR dress will be good for sweat absorption. Good thinking!

These look great on you. You might also try a denim dress in a similar shape. I find that something with in substantial fabric that won't cling is actually cooler than a soft cotton knit that does.

I love both of these on you , and *thank you* so much for sharing these with us. It was 100F yesterday, and even denim clams don't cut it, if you know what I mean.

I used to do a ton of these! Only regret --- they never lasted longer than one of my long (7-month?) summer/monsoons
