Girls, now a days finding a good seamstress is a miracle, not too mention to do it in Italy. I've ben lucky enough: she is great at her job and on top of that she speaks English! However with todays' visit we found ourselves in a difficult technical/language situation. How do you call in English this particular parallel cut on the back of the fitted shirt that actually makes the shirt fit? It's not only cut, it also gathers a cloth a bit. The same kind of cut, although short is used waist down to fit pencil skirt.
I was trying to fit a dress that was too wide for me and even though we both knew what needs to be done neither of us knew the proper word. Please help!
