Team USA!

A little interesting micro (or something even smaller) trend that I have picked up while browsing clothing websites is Team USA or what I think of as traditional American High School or Secondary School clothing...

Hahaha- letter jackets. I think everyone I know had one of those It was actually for our school and not nearly as well cut for a woman. We tended to look like puff-a-lumps in ours.

I like the varsity sweaters though. They are not currently used by schools very often, so it seems more like a fashion piece and less like someone who simply can't let go of high school. I tend to smirk when I see 30 year olds still sporting their letter jackets.

I noticed this when I was in Forever 21 not to long ago. They had one section that had a lot of the Varsity look. It must have been the 80's section because I also saw a lot of old school preppy looks.

Interesting that it is present on the other side of the Atlantic as well. ASOS have paired the jackets and cardigans with fuller 1950s (but shorter) skirts and prints.

Fi, LOL on maternity clothes, I am so over my maternity selection, too, but still I have 6 more weeks to go! I have to admit that I am already shopping non-maternity, and bought 2 tops during my lunch hour today. Of course I couldn't even try them on over my 8-month belly, but they were just my perfect colors so I couldn't resist. Cheers

DanaLynn, I certainly remember my varsity letter jacket. And yes, mine was legit as well!

I always have trouble getting behind any looks that are too team-oriented, because I'm a huge sports fan. If I'm going to wear something that has that sports team look, it will be for a team or player I cheer for.
