Thanks all! The knit top does look less than perfect at the back. There is a bit of a wave to the seam. The belt disguises it nicely. But I do think it’s better to have a 90% perfect item that I am able to wear than a 100% perfect item that I don’t.

Star, LJP, SarahD8 and JP, thanks for chiming in with your knitwear tips. I am currently altering a cardigan (by hand so it’s taking forever). If it comes out ok I will post it and maybe we can get a thread going that collects tips on altering knitwear.

Rachy, you have teal velvet trousers too? I hope you will do a wiw one day

Zaeobi and Nikki, the green circle belt might be the oldest piece in my wardrobe. I like that the circles are brass not gold. It adds a muted bling.

Jules, wish I could come. Sounds great!

Angie, thank you. The teal pants are pretty special. I admit I baby them quite a bit.

I'm fainting again from seeing your innovative stylings and new DIYprojects! Love all the outfits-they are all so rich in texture, layers and not to mention the ethereal (not else!) color teal in different incarnations, playfull matte/shiny velvet, grinning through translucent sparkly black mesh, or among other adiacent colors in a beautiful print. Can't wait to hear about how you altered the sweater-you did perfect-looks like a new original! Oh and did I mention accessories? Well, PLONK!:-)

Wow, Brooklyn, this is killer from start to finish. The teal pants are amazing, but can we also just talk for a moment about that green velvet coat. I think it moved me to tears it's so perfect. Just. WOW.

These are all a treat to see, but I am also absolutely smitten with your teal pants outfit - modern retro perfection!

Thanks Jaime and Lyn67.

Thanks CarolS. I love the velvet coat but it has been a difficult item. Twice I’ve managed to rip it open at the side seam and repaired it by hand. I don’t know if that indicates poor construction or if it’s just that the fabric is delicate. But I hope to be wearing it for years to come.
