Taylor Stitch Cavallo Pants -- GREAT chinos!

I can finally end my quest for 100% cotton chinos that fit me better than J Crew's. I've been eying Taylor Stitch's entire product line for a long time, and finally caved on these pants:

They arrived today and fit perfectly. Nice mid rise, really gorgeous herringbone fabric, and I like the workwear style pockets. I'm really coming over to patch pockets -- you can get a slim fit plus functional pockets without any grinning. Casual, yes, but I really am bothered by grinning pockets, but also by teeny useless pockets, so this is a good solution for me. The color is lovely too -- it's a cooler olive, with some grey in it -- my preferred shade when it comes to olive/fatigue. Excellent construction; it seems they will be worth every penny, especially considering they are US-made.

These are a perfect slim fit for me (25" waist, 36" hip, 20" thighs, 14" calves). I ordered the 2 and the 0, am keeping the 0. Note: Taylor Stitch does offer free return shipping for US orders, though they don't shout about it all over their website.

I'll try to do a WIW with these later in the week, I'm just too busy for photos right now!

Love that subtle herringbone fabric, and I totally get what you mean about the grinning. How is the calf fit? Mine are at max size at the end of nordic ski season. I'm close to 15 inches, and with feet of snow predicted for next weekend, they may keep growing!

Do any major retailers carry them or do you have to order direct?

They look great - if they weren't a heavy fabric I'd be tempted but I know better in my warm climate.

karen13 -- they might work for you. the calves are slim on me but they don't catch when I pull them off and on, and they certainly aren't "calf-sucking" iykwim. their CS is pretty quick about responding with specific garment measurements if you email them.

texstyle -- yes, they're quite substantial, which I like -- they seem pretty wrinkle proof and very durable. and perfect for spring and fall here: it's finally a glorious 50 degrees, but we still have snow on the ground from the weekend.

I really like the look of this brand. I've actually put a sweater of theirs on my short list. (It would likely get put away until the fall, but if it's perfect it would be a great buy - it looks fantastic for a casual look). Thanks again for the tip.
