Why no love for taupe?

I have nothing against taupe. I actually like it, but this made me chuckle. I did see myself in a few of these observations.

Now *that* is funny ! My bff and I have a few things we mock and vow to never wear but sometimes those taupe capris can be mighty tempting ;).

I was dropping some things off yesterday at the thrift store, and guess what I saw on one of the racks? A pair of taupe cargo capri pants. They didn't come home with me. HAHAHA!

I have never been much of a taupe person anyway (beige is soul-sucking on my coloring to begin with!), but this is too funny.

Love this; one of my favorite brands went a bit too Menocore, and it’s a sea of bisque with almost invisible patterns this summer.

So funny!

I waffle back & forth between “ who gives a …” and surreptitiously checking the mirror.

I like taupe , which is flattering to my complexion ( some shades) because of its cool, murky nature. And goes with berry colors.

But, I have found it harder to mix & match than other neutrals. Or maybe rather, it has to be in its own capsule, and I find it hard to find the right pieces.
I have 2 taupe blouses that I’ve kept for yraithough, wearing off & on, usually with black or denim.

cat2: About 3 years ago, after the start of the pandemic, I noticed clothing color palettes suddenly full of "breakfast colors" like toast, oatmeal, and soy milk. Needless to say, I was disappointed and retreated into bright colors and patterns to keep my spirits up. I've added more non-patterned neutrals to my wardrobe, but will avoid anything with a color description of soy milk.

ND: It reminds me of the early 90s, when work clothes were available in a full range of shades from dove grey to taupe.

I have always been drawn to warmer browns, but have tried taupe tops and they work better than I would have thought on me. Skipping the khaki pants though!
When exactly is this power of invisibility supposed to occur? Very much looking forward to that!
