Target Shoes?

I saw these at Target last night while shopping for some house stuff for our new house. I tried them on quickly (my husband was trying to get me out of the store with just a dish drainer, he was unsuccessful) and they seemed to be ok. But I've had problems with flats in the past that rub my heels raw and cut up the top of my feet (I think it's because I'm a 8.5 wide and a 8 long, so I buy them to fit the length so they stay on, but then they rub, I'm trying to work on that after many unworn pairs of shoes donated). I try to stay away from $20 shoes in general as well. But these come in so many wonderful colors! Talk me out of it!

I have sworn off target or cheap shoes, for good. I'm tempted once in awhile but remember all the donated pairs because they just don't feel good for my feet. I have some serious bunions and need more arch support and these cheap shoes just don't have what it takes. I would rather have a few great pairs that are comfortable and will last than a bunch of cheaper shoes.

My personal rule on Target shoes is that I'll only buy the ones made of leather. The ones you posted are very cute, but they would be sweaty and unforgiving.

I have also bought and donated many shoes from Target. I agree with Traci that the leather ones are better for the reasons she mentioned. Like Carole, I have decided that they might look good but usually don't feel good, especially after a few hours.

I would generally say no to cheap shoes, but lately I've been using Target and (gasp) Payless to fill my need to try trends for <$50. I bought these faux-suede loafers and they are as comfortable as slippers: http://www.target.com/p/women-.....=moccasins. I would also try those same ballet flats, but they don't sell them long enough for me.

Hmm. I guess that's not talking you out of it. How's this...if you know you have fussy feet (which I don't) don't buy cheap shoes. Are they cute? Absolutely, but you can probably find just as cute that won't hurt your feet.

I have long narrow feet made wide (ruined) at the ball of the foot by ballet and have similar problems with slippage v. feet being rubbed raw. I rather like Payless shoes because they have wide widths. I walk a lot and expensive doesn't mean "wears out slower," so at the rate I go through shoes, the price is right.

Placing shoe pads at the ball of the foot can help with slippage. What I watch out most for is seams. Oddly placed or roughly finished, stiff seams are what cut up my feet.

I have fussy, hard to fit feet, but DD's are more *normal* except that she has a very narrow heel. She'd tried Target shoes for years but never found any to fit until earlier in the year when she found oxfords that were comfy enough for her to walk hours in them. Who would have thought? And this was when I was about to tell her not to waste her time and energy on a fruitless search!

I think the trick is not to compromise on fit EVER, recognizing that fit is 200% more important with cheap shoes since they are less likely to stretch.

I would pass unless you can comfortably wear them with insoles for support and comfort. Sometimes adding cushioned insoles makes shoes too tight, but your feet will thank you for the effort.

Target Australia shoes are generally not very good but I don't know about the US. I prefer a lasting, quality ballet flat however if this is just a one season wonder you are after and they are comfortable then they could be good value for you.

Thanks everyone! I have learned that I do need a comfortable shoe, or I won't wear it and it will just waste money. I tend to overpronate and need a good arch support along with having slightly wider feet. I think I need to give up on ballet flats for good.
