There seems to be a lot of Petty love out there, so I'm hoping I can get some info from owners on fit and comfort.

My feet from heel to mid foot are slender, but I have a broad forefoot due in part to bunions. No real arch issues, but I do appreciate a comfy footbed. The heel height looks to be perfect for me. I'm a true 9.5. Every shoe and boot I own is that size--no exceptions!

How do Pettys fit?

*this is what I want, but I am also looking at leopard, and wondering if there is a navy blue leather one available as well?

I have a somewhat broad forefoot . They fit me but there is no extra room on the sides in the front. Not sure how they would work with bunions. What is the website you are looking at? I want leapord ones !

I have a broad forefoot and a fairly narrow heel and they fit me ok -- they would be on the med to narrow scale though. The ones I bought were a 10 and stretched at the store and that made them good for me. The footbed is not cushioned, so an insole would be needed if you wanted a softer footbed.

I have a narrow heel, and a medium forefoot. I got the smaller of my two sizes (6.5) as they are quite long. As Ceit says, there's no padded footbed. I find them comfortable and can wear them all day, but ideally would like a bit more heel (my arches prefer a 2 inch incline.)

They hurt my feet, especially in the forefoot, but I think my experience is different from most.

I have a narrow heel and a medium to wide forefoot due to bunions. I basically have a 6.5W foot but can sometimes size up to a regular 7. The Pettys were way too narrow for me.

We sound like foot twins, Carla! I always wear a 9 1/2 and have I have a terrible bunion that limits greatly my shoe choices. I LOVE my Pettys and have the black and putty suede. The 9 1/2's fit fine and are quite comfortable, even for me. I wouldn't say the footbed is particularly comfortable but if I can wear a stylish shoe or boot and not have in hurt my feet, I am all in. I would highly recommend!

My feet are medium width and tend to widen out at the toes. I usually take aa 7.5 or 8 and the 8s fit me best in the Petty. I have both the python leather and the suede putty versions. I needed the pythons stretched (at Nordstroms) in the front on the leather pythons (they are stiffer). The soft suede leather of the putty color molded comfortably to my foot without stretching. The pythons are comfortable now but still not 8 hour shoes. I've had the puttys just a short time but have worn them comfortably for hours on my feet. I'm thinking of getting them in black but will check out all those options on the SE website. I saw that Nordstrom has them in dark green now.

This is great to know, as I struggle with the same narrow heel/wide toe-box challenge. Add to that a high instep, and it's a wonder I ever find anything besides flip flops to fit. Thanks for all of the insight!

I got them in black suede and putty suede because they were so comfortable. I don't have wide feet but I sized up half a size to make sure I have room for the toes. The only downside I see is that the suede seems to crease across the foot in one area (happened to both pairs) so I don't know how long they will last. I got mine on Amazon for $78 and $90.

I have the putty and the leopard. I, too, take 9.5 and have overall narrow feet, especially in the heel. These are very, very comfortable. If your feet are quite wide at the toes, you might find them pinching there, I would think.

Carla you can try a pair on at Town shoes or even order and return them if you have a local store near you. The Bay also has a pair online (rarely in the Store), but you can order online and return to the store. This way you would know your sizing. Hope that helps. It is hard to take the plunge cross border shopping when unsure of the shoe size.

There is a 4 day shopping trip in Toronto in my future! I am making up a 'look book' of things I would like to try out, including the Pettys. Just wanted to get an idea on the fit, and if I should look specifically for them, or for other booties. The heel height looks to be about what I like.

I don't know about the Pettys, but I did try on these similar booties at Clarks.
(Spye Hale). They are not cushy, but have room for a (drugstore gel) insert (pretty sure). The toebox was wide enough for me, and I have pretty severe bunions on both feet. (I tried the Pettys and they hurt my feet, so sad about that.) These might be too wide in the heel, but possibly worth a look if you are near a store that sells Clarks. Here's the Zappos link:

I'm going to be the naysayer. I returned my Pettys because even though they were a good match for my slender feet, I thought the footbed was unbearably hard and uncomfortable. The arch support wasn't great, either. You might have some luck with adding an insert, as long as it doesn't cause the bootie to fit too tightly across the top. Try them, though -- I was bummed they didn't work out because the styling is so perfect.
