Talk me into or out of trying this jumpsuit!

I have been looking at this jumpsuit for months; as the weather warms up, it looks more and more appealing. It seems like the perfect kind of thing to go from morning Zoom classes to backyard picnic lunch, you know? We're heading into the ideal time of year for cropped pants/short sleeves here; because I run cold and have cool summers, I'd get a lot of summer mileage out of this kind of piece. I like how they've styled it with the turtleneck underneath to take it into colder weather too.

It's a little pricey, but the Mother's Day promo brings it closer to my spending comfort zone. Having not made any clothing purchases in a couple months (and no big-ticket purchases at all in 2020), it seems pretty reasonable. I have several other Tradlands pieces (one knit top and two woven tops) and am extremely happy with the quality of all of them. The garment measurements in the size guide sound like they'd work for me. They have other colours, too (pale blue, black, sand), but the rust is the one that really caught my eye. What say you, YLF?

I like it! Will you find it comfortable enough with the belt and/or flattering enough without?

I love my jumpsuit. I was skeptical initially, but it's one of the most-worn pieces in my wardrobe. I've always wanted to try a Tradlands piece, too!

ETA: One caveat: I find that Tencel really tenaciously holds onto stains, especially oils, and avoid it for that reason.

This would be gorgeous on you and so versatile, allowing for layering. Of course being a jumpsuit, it would be a bit of a bother when going to the bathroom. I am a jumpsuit lover because I like how easy dresses are, a one piece dressing solution, jumpsuits offer that with the additional bonus of pants. However, the ease of getting into and out of a jumpsuit will likely impact how regularly you wear it.

My vote is give it a try. This has the potential to be a stylish workhorse. The mustard colour is lovely.

Really like this, its got that fashion/not fashion vibe, (not really sure how to explain that), but its a vibe that I associate with you. I can see this working well. Layering in the cooler weather, and then a nice 1 and done as the weather warms up

Pic 1 is a bit 'convict - but make it fashion'. In pic 2 I can definitely see the appeal and how it would look effortlessly chic on you and your Parisian vibe! Don't know if this is to any help

I say go for it! I like the way it is shown layered over long sleeves, which illustrates how you can get more months of wear out of it. Great color for you and a simple, yet loose and casual style.

Very cute! Would you wear it with the belt? If yes and if it doesn’t have at least thread belt loops, I suggest adding them. Otherwise, in the loo you will have to contend with a long loose belt. With belt loops you can at least stuff the ends in the pockets or possibly let them dangle from the belt loops.

That looks fun to wear. Not as good for all your muddy activities, but your kids are getting bigger and there are non-muddy parts of your life. This color looks great for you.
Lol that the potty topic still comes up every time a jumpsuit is posted. How long have they been back around? And we still don’t simply accept that as part of the deal?

What others have said about the loo, especially if you are in a place with a less than pristine floor. The jumpsuit will partly end up on the floor. You will want to wear some sort of top so that you are not exposed. Also, be sure that you take a good look at the rear view.

Public restrooms, what are those? In all seriousness, though, I'm okay with the bathroom thing. My workplace restrooms are small, relatively low-traffic, and at least as clean as my home bathroom. The only time I really use public restrooms is when traveling, and I can't see a linen-tencel one-piece being at the top of my packing list for most trips. I like separates and jersey-knits when I travel.

I'm surprised only one person (Synne) brought up the prison jumpsuit connotation. I keep wondering if the rust will feel too Orange is the New Black, especially unbelted. I'm generally okay with the look of waist-surrendering outfits and with the structure of belted outfits. The lack of belt loops gives me some pause, but buying a piece with belt loops in the wrong place is maybe worse?

I'm leaning towards giving it a shot. I have a sleeveless jumpsuit in a lux Tencel jersey, added last spring, and I'm itching for it to be warm enough to wear it. I'm not feeling the same way about my dresses at the moment. Hmmm. I will decide whether or not to pull the trigger tomorrow.

I love this for you..

I have been wearing my jumpsuit at home a few times during Covid19. I put a striped top underneath. Mine has a waist tie and no belt loops and I find this fine. I actually like to have both options.

I won't wear mine to a rock concert or sports game (which are off the table anyway of course) but to work, for at home, or for functions at others homes I find it perfect.

Ordered this morning, along with a set of scrunchies to share with DS (whose hair is actually a bit longer than mine!). Totally a splurge-y thing, but I have no other Mother's Day plans, aside from baking a batch of cinnamon rolls tomorrow and replacing my ancient bike seat with a nice new one.

I've still got Alex Mill jumpsuits on the brain as well. I really like this washed-black one.

And Hackwith Design sent me an email spotlighting this cool long-sleeve romper. It's the first balloon-sleeve thing that's caught my eye. But it's basically the same colour as the one I just ordered, and how many rust one-piece outfits does a person need when summer is the shortest season?

Glad you ordered it! Belted, it’s chic. I love jumpsuits. Post-pandemic, I’ve been wearing a very old jumpsuit with snap buttons and mid length sleeves for grocery shopping. It’s easy to take off, I just step out of it and put it directly into the laundry. I like that there’s no need to pull it over my head. You could do the same with this one.

You could definitely wear that rust balloon sleeved romper beyond summertime - just layer an A-line skirt or sleeveless gilet over the top when the temperatures start to drop. Would be cute with knee-high boots, as well.

Love the color for you! It does not make me think of prison inmates....for that it would need to be a more neon orange. I think this color is derivative of industrial worker garb, but richer and warmer in tone.....as it should be....since it’s fashion. I look forward to any pictures you post once it arrives. I have one jumpsuit, but have been reluctant to wear it to work....in a school building where the washrooms are not particularly clean or low traffic. I should add it to the rotation of my WFH items!

I'm an enabler too- but definitely like it more with the belt than without! I like the burgundy one too! The long sleeve romper seems seasonally confused to me, or very limited climate use. If it's warm enough for shorts, you don't want to be committed to sleeves all day.
