Animal print is definitely a neutral in my book, but my only concern is not the print - it's the color. On my screen, the background reads a little orange-y, and I think the more cream/tan/taupe variety of animal print is easier to style. Have you seen the color in person?
Truly, I find boot shopping to be such a chore that if I ever manage to find the perfect pair in any height, I'll be snapping them up in at least 2 colors. So if you love the leopard, go for it!
