As far as the color goes, I think you would find them to be incredibly versatile. This color green looks great with all shades of denim, navy, cognac, tan, cream, black, greys...almost any color. About the only thing I wouldn't wear them with is a bright red dress or trouser, because they would be too Christmasy. I bought a pair of tall green boots last year and never found an outfit they didn't work out with. My daughter loved them so much she got a similar green combat boots. Our green is even a little lighter than the booties you show
As far as buying now goes, everyone gave good advice to wait until after Seattle. Here's an idea of a twist on that. What about ordering them now and taking them to Seattle for the team to evaluate with you. It would mean you can't wear them out and about right away, but you'd have them right there to compare to any other contenders.
