Talbots & Other Petite Basic Fitted Shirts

The search continues. . . .Neither BB nor BR fitted/tailored shirts give me a flattering fit. I think I am too narrow of shoulder, short of neck, and full-busted for them to look good. Same with J.Jill. It is hard to track down Petites in brick'n'mortar stores. For example, they are strictly an online item at Talbots -- and I hate to pay $8 S/H if I am likely to end up with nothing.

Are J. Crew shirts cut like BR ones? What about AT ones? Something tells me they have a similar fit so would be a no-go for me. . . .

How about Talbots? A different cut?

My ancient white shirt from LE fits but is rather boxy and too short for today's lower pants. LE shirts are now cut straight across at the bottom, and I would prefer a tail. Also, I am inclined to think they would probably be a boxy fit on me since I am more hourglass than apple.

Have I left any petite stones unturned? How is JCP? Eddie Bauer? I am between a P2 and P4, so if they have size inflation, I can't get a fit.

JCrew is simular, I think to BR, because both fit me well. I have narrow shoulders and small bust so if BR didn't work for you, JCrew may not either

Donna, I have a couple of JCrew shirts (I think I have similar proportions to you). I have to use fashion tape to "close the gap", but once I do that, they fit very well. Good luck, I know how frustrating it is. The BB shirts did not fit me at all. I do wear older BR shirts, but they are from several years ago (and I have to tape the gap on them, as well).

Talbots has a sale on now, so I ordered two different shirts in two sizes and three different skirts in two sizes, so if even one thing fits, I won't mind the $8 S/H. I'll report back.

I've never tried fashion tape; I'll have to keep an eye out for it.
