Talbots BF jeans K/R - YouLookFab Forum

Hi fellow Fabbers....So I've been dying to try this trend and I finally broke down and ordered these. It was that pesky Talbots catalogue in my post box that did it. Thistle had purchased these and wasn't happy with the fit even though she ordered a size up. I took my cue from her and did the same. Surprisingly, they fit. I can find many occasions to wear them in Florida as most of my weekend wear is casual. They gape a bit in the waist and tend to fall down a little but I'm sure a visit to the tailor can fix that....or maybe that is the BF factor at work? Honestly, I had a pair of jeans like this in high school and they we my favourites but that was many moons and two kids ago. Do I look like I'm trying to relive my youth or can I pull this look off?
Honest thoughts and suggestions much appreciated. I can take it!

Mary, those are cute on you! Angie and others wear their BFs so loose at the waist that they must be belted in order to keep them on, so I wouldn't worry about tailoring the waist. What do you think about tapering them a little? Or maybe rolling them up once more? I really like the wash.

HA! Claire beat me to it. I was going to say exactly what she did. These look great. I would invest in a bit of tapering on the leg or peg them by folding them in a bit when you roll them and I would roll a bit higher to get to that sweet spot for cropped pants, but they look great otherwise!

Consensus! 1. These are cute 2. Build your belt collection and, 3. Perhaps taper at the bottom a little!

BTW -- I've had to add larger belts to my collection, because my new pants often fit lower on my hips, and not at the waist.

Keep! These were how they were supposed to fit. As noted, Angie and. Several others wear their BFs so big they have to belt them on!

They look great, Hedgie! And I think a looser jean would be more comfortable in the heat (if you even wear them once it starts heating up for real...I know that would be tough for me.)

Really glad these worked out for you! I agree with the others about rolling a bit more and/or tapering or pegging for a more tapered look.
