I'm still very new here but have been poring over Angie's blog posts and all the posts here, and I'm totally inspired! So thank you all for that.

Anyhow, I took a risk today (a risk for me!): I tried on some premium denim. I'm a size 12 on bottom, and have always been intimidated to try schmancy denim. But today I took a deep breath, went to Saks on my lunch hour, and tried some on. A. they had my size (duh, of course they did! what had I been thinking in the past?!), and B. I found a pair that--if I may say so--looked fantastic on me! They were 7s. I didn't commit and buy them, but am seriously considering.

I also ordered a dress from Rue La La today that I *love.* I have a total weakness for Lilly Pulitzer stuff, spun with a Kate Spade vibe--so uber preppy with a sense of humor. In the past I would probably have thought myself out of buying it, but today I just went for it. Why not have a dress that I love?! Here it is--I'm just over the moon about it:

I think that for much too long I've had the idea that fashion and looking good are for other people, not me, and that I'm doomed to frumpiness. Ridiculous. Really, just absurd! But reading and reading here at YLF has made me start re-thinking and realizing, hey, fashion and looking good is for me, too! So again, thank you all!
