Well that's how I feel right now regarding nail polish... I've always painted my toe nails for Spring and Summer. Recently I began painting my fingernails even though housework doesn't make it last for more than a few days...Any way, I feel so silly asking this but I was wondering what is appropriate? Can I wear separate colors on my hands and feet? I mean totally different colors like mettallic on my hand and pastel on my toes? Your words of wisdom are greatly appreciated!!!!!

I have no clue because I never polish my toes and rarely do my fingers. But I will be following this thread.

Well, I do that--different colors on hands and feet. The fashion police have not arrested me yet, but there's always a first time...

Since women (young women, from what I see) are now wearing different polish on different fingers (usually one "highlight" nail) I think the days of matchy-matchy are over! At book group the other night, a young woman (whom I just love) had lavender nails and the nails on her ring fingers were a shade deeper -- subtle, but definitely a difference. My college-age daughter does this highlight thing in a much more pronounced way, and while checking into a hotel in Denver recently, I saw that the young woman had rainbow nails - each one a different color.
I think you can definitely mix up fingers and toes no matter what your age and style, especially if you go metallic + color. That to me will always work well.

Oh, my goodness! How exciting for you!

I regularly paint my tosies and occasionally paint my fingernails. I choose colours that I think work well together, either because they contrast or because they are complements. Eg raspberry on toes and light pink on fingers, navy on toes and light pink on fingers, teal on toes and light peach on fingers.

Was just looking at my toes yesterday and thinking it was time to start with the polish!

Toes through the summer, and fingers from time to time. I don't do matchy, but might do from the same colour family. Did a chrome purple on toe nails, with a plum on fingers for a fall vacation once! Usually do my own, but usually start and end the season with a professional pedicure. On these occasions I go for the craziest colours in the collection. Love the chrome navy polish!

Such a small, and cheap thrill! Have fun with it TL 65!

Good for you remember to coat twice use a bottom/top coat to extend wear.

Mix away. I think anything goes. At the Melbourne mini meet, LynD was wearing a gorgeous blue polish on her fingers with the ring finger on each hand painted a pale blue. She then had the pale blue on all of her toenails. Looks so fab I had to copy her when I got home

I always mix hands and feet. I like really dark or really bright on the toes, and then softest pinks on the hands - it doesn't quite show the first chip so much!

Thanks ladies! I currently have metallic pink shade on hands and pastel blue on my toes, though I am not quite ready to wear open toed shoes.. but maybe soon!
