Hello fellow YLF'ers! It has been an awful long time since I visited here
and I need some advice, something you're all so good at. I feel fairly settled
in my style right now, I love my neutrals and I seem to favour wardrobe classic
pieces with a twist. My pinterest style board is here in case you want a
squizzy, it is fairly indicative of the type of outfits that take my fancy.

So I always feel a little something is missing and almost a little bored,
but cant quite put my finger on what it is. I seem to be repeating my "uniform"
with wearing jeans, knit top & boots or flats over and over. I don't like
too much fuss and frou frou going on, not keen on dresses for winter, dont feel
comfortable in button down shirts and not a legging fan.

Perhaps I need to shake things up a bit, I'm just not sure what I need to
change. Any suggestions or advice is warmly welcomed.

If I were you I would start a board for "inspirational" clothing - things that you just love even though you may not think you would wear them. Patterns seem to emerge when I don't censor myself

Also, although you mention you enjoy your neutrals, there is a fair bit of vibrant colour on your Pinterest board, so maybe you could punch things up with some red, fuchsia, coral or another bright that works with your complexion? Even a one jacket in a bright colour could switch things up for you a bit.

Karen, I love your inspiration board and am heading back soon to pin somethings I wonder if maybe accessories would alleviate your boredom. I love your 'uniform' and think maybe mixing textures, updating a few accessories and even adding a couple of pairs of 'interesting' footwear might just allow you to add a bit of a 'twist' to your formula?

Suz - it's so funny you should say that, I started thinking how much I enjoy wearing red, Corals & pinks and I don't know why I don't have any in my winter wardrobe.
Rute - thanks for the suggestion & I adore your style too! Bracelets are a great addition when the weather is cool.
Deb - great to be back! Textures is a great point, I have black waxed jeans that I wear with a black jersey T but it has visual interest which stops it feeling too boring.

There are lots of boat necks on your P board. Are you wearing them IRL? I know it's a bit tricky in winter when there's usualy a scarf on board. I'm thinking, if that strong line is one you admire, maybe you could tie your scarf a little wider across your neckline.

There is a classic vibe to your inspiration photos. I would say to bump up the quality of your items as you can afford it, one by one...with investment pieces that will last a lifetime. Rich-looking leather purses, Hermes-type scarves, beautiful woolen sweaters and ponchos. Just a thought. And of course amazing shoes and jewelry. Not complicated, fussy things, but items that look beautiful and will last a long time.

Your outfit you posted is very chic and stylish as-is (fellow neutral lover!)

I think you've gotten great ideas to add in color, bolder accessories, texture, etc. I really like the jacket idea too. Topping that sort of basic outfit with a statement jacket might be fun. You can always remove it when you need to, so you're back to the outfit you're at ease in.

If you weren't asking about shaking things up, I'd be tempted to just say 'carry on'

Hello! It's nice to "meet" you! I love your Pinterest board; a lot of the outfits you posted appeal to me too.

I echo the advice you've received from the others. I especially like the idea of adding interesting footwear to boost the 'wow' factor a bit. With simple clothes, an interesting shoe really pops.

I spent some time really analyzing my pinterest board, I've realised that
what draws me to outfits is often simple, classic details but each outfit has 1
thing which gives it an edge or is an on trend item. Sometimes that is through
use of color, fabric textures, a funky necklace, a current shoe or an
interesting detail on an item.

Here are some visuals to back up my ramblings to create interest in outfits.
