Tailor destroys my pant :(

I had given my tailor a black and a brown coudroy pant.
The black where tapered and I wanted them ankle length (as I donot wear heels much). The brown was slight boot cut and I wanted them hemmed ever so slightly. And he returns both with the brown as ankle length and black hemmed

What do I do !!!! Sob!!!!

Oh no!! Ok then, so the brown are now too short. Is there enough hem turned up inside that could be let down to the absolute limit and a false hem put on? Would that make them long enough? have the brown ones been tapered too?

Thanks Di. He has not let any allowance on the brown one!!!!!!!! Grrr... He made it like jeans hem and it cannot be let. I will not pay him to do anything on my pant anymore as he doesn't accept this as his mistake.

Brown are not tapered. They are still boot cutish which I think looks really weird at ankle length. Shall I taper them myself?

Oh dear. No I definitely wouldn't use him again. I guess your only option is to taper the brown ones so that the style is more in keeping with the shorter length. You could style them like Angies blog post today ( she says... trying to add a silver lining to the cloud )

That woul make me so angry! I'd try tapering the brown. Can you still have the black shortened as you would like?

I hate when stuff like this happens! I like to have a slip from the tailor that describes what they are going to do (bring in waist seam 1", hem pant to 32" inseam, etc). I feel it's safer for both of us to have it in writing.
I'd definitely never go back. I've been in your shoes and that's what I ended up doing. Sadly, there's not much you can do to the ruined clothing

Oh noes! So sorry to hear this happened. I always worry with tailoring because mistakes do happen. I like the idea to tuck shorter pants into boots. Or maybe you can cuff them with your shoes? Rolled pants are popular right now.

I vote for making the corduroys into ankle-length skinnies. I have a pair of corduroy skinnies and they're a winter fave.

Ramya, I can feel your pain - a few wardrobe related disappointments come close to this one. Especially if the tailor has no humility and won't accept the fact he made a mistake. That's probably the main lesson for next time - ask in advance what happens if they make a mistake AND take a sketch with detailed instructions of what you want so there are no doubts what was your request.

I guess you're not likely to go and buy another two pairs, so I think you simply need to find a creative way to make a lemonade from these lemons, youknowwhatimean. We'll hold your hand.
