Janet, best of luck with this!! I am sure it will go well. I have had laparoscope surgery -- not a hysterectomy, but for fibroids, and, it turned out, endometriosis, and recovery was much smoother than I'd feared and it really wasn't too bad at all -- plus the results were really, really helpful to me. I hope it will be similar for you.

Hi Janet, I've had one too. It went really smoothly and I feel great now. I needed pain meds for just a few days. Don't be surprised if you feel fatigue for a while--lots of people I've talked to experienced this and so did I. Just rest and take care of yourself! Good luck!

I can't tell you all how much it means to have all your good wishes and encouragement. This has been a little bit of a bumpy emotional road for me, and I'm so fortunate to have such amazing, caring people in my life,both in person and online.

We just got home from the Star Trek movie -- a fantastic way to distract my mind for a couple of hours! Now I'm off to get some sleep since we leave for the hospital early in the morning. I'll check in with you when I am able.

Best wishes for a speedy recovery. Keep in mind that a goodly chunk of feeling weird and sick to your stomach is simply the after effect (or is it affect?) of the general anesthetic. So we used to talk about people *going under the knife*. Now do we say *going under the laparoscope*?!?

(btw since this is your first surgery, remember what I said about taking your time before putting anything in your mouth after waking up from the anaesthetic...)

You will be just fine. I believe my mom went through something similar many years ago and everything went well. I hope you have a good recovery

Hey all! Making this brief because I'm very tired but all went well. I'm in a regular room for the night and as comfortable as possible. Thank you so very much for all the good wishes and words of wisdom.

Freckles, hubs and I were just talking about that very thing. How fortunate to live in a place and time where this can be treated in such a way. I am giving thanks tonight, as I do every night.

My physical recovery was smooth (and I was not at all in as good shape as you are now, at the time) but I do recall that emotionally, I felt vulnerable for a while. I am glad you have reached out here and have loving people in your life.
