SYCers- We Survived the NAS!

Was it as rough as you thought it would be?
I originally had planned on going, but then I decided to NAS. I wish that I could have gone and tried on oxfords, but oh well. Not shopping is getting harder and harder for me. I have a floral dress on my wishlist, and Target has some on sale this week. I'm trying to satisfy myself with knitting projects instead. I finished another scarf last night.
How are you all holding up?

I peered at a few things on my NAS wishlist last night but decided to let them go. The trouve oxfords were cute but didn't work with my wide feet. I also made it through Target with only 2 pairs of socks for myself this weekend. That is a feat in itself, Target is my biggest downfall!

Yay, high five ladies!

I almost made it to Nordies yesterday but then I was reminded of the empty boxes in garage that needed sorting/putting away! I have been getting by by mostly focusing on furnishing/decorating the house. On a budget, it can get challenging and I have to get creative. That takes up a lot of my mind space. I am head over heels in love with Angie's pleated neck Karen Kane dress now though It doesn't help that it is perfect for my lifestyle and weather.

modgirl, Target is my downfall too. I find myself there atleast 2-3 times a week. It makes for a nice lunchbreak.

Good job! I was never really going to shop NAS but I still get lured by online shopping in general. Since I don't have a car anymore, that's the only way I can shop. I sort of slipped through loopholes with a paypal balance and need for proper sized bras last month. But this month is a strict SYC no socks, no anything. Period. It's not easy. Especially when I get stir crazy being in the house. I may become a magazine junkie for a while instead

I am right there with you guys on Target. I was there again this morning, and it took all of my reserve not to buy something for myself.

I browsed NAS; but everything was still too expensive for me! GAH. I need to get a real job. :p

It wasn't as bad as I was ready for it to be. Nothing was perfect for me (based on pictures and descriptions, I never tried anything on), and so I kept from being too smitten. That being said, I'm definitely not planning on being SYC during the next NAS!

Target on the other hand always gets me! I bought this dress, belt and FAB wood "stone" ring with some of my August clothing money. I'm not strong! (I'm not specifically on a shopping ban, but I'm trying not to impulse shop.)

It really wasn't that tough for me. I kept about a 5 mile radius away from all of the Nordies in my area! I didn't look on-line, I didn't brouse the catalogue - I just pretended that it wasn't going on - although, once in awhile I did wonder what handbags they might have on sale. But, then I looked at my DOZENS of handbags that I already have, and I really didn't feel the temptation anymore. I'm far enough away from Target that I have to PLAN a trip to go to one, so that store is not a problem for me. Overall, it wasn't near as painful as I thought it would be - a good lesson for me!

I started making paper quilled snowflakes to keep my mind off of NAS.
