I really love this tank!

And I've seen no less than five swoon-worthy cognac messenger bags that would totally fill one of my main Fall holes (bag to wear over bulky coat that stands out against black).

Anyone have some kind of patch or gum that can help me??

my advice: no looky!!!
no looky = no temptation >>> no temptation = no spendy >>> no spendy = more penny for Fall shopping = happy SYC.
WE all want you to have a happy SYC!
(think: "look at all these pretty clothes I can wear for FREE" -- b/c you already own them).
You can do it Rae... and we are depending on you for inspiration (no pressure... ha haa).

Hahaha, you guys are awesome. MaryK, I can just picture you having a morning LOL - blame it on Friday the 13th!

Celia, you are right that it's worth it... but it's.so. hard! And I'm physically incapable of cutting myself off from browsing, it seems. I even turned off all my email subscriptions, and look what happened.

Rosee, I actually appreciate the pressure. My Asian half has been trained to respond well to guilt, so that actually goes a long way to reigning in my id. Hm, maybe this thread is the closest thing to a shopping patch I will get!

Rae, I am having a very hard time and fell off the wagon yesterday. I've been shopping for a dress in some very high end boutiques. I am not tempted there at all! I know I cant afford anything in there and I am only there to check out the dresses.

But get me within a mile of a consignment shop and I am in big trouble. It was impossible to pass up the Milly jacket of perfection for about 5% of it's retail price! Sorry, SYC, tomorrow is another day.

Oh man, this made me laugh! I knew *exactly* how you felt, even before I opened the post. A few weeks into my own SYC I was thinking the same thing...(except I may or may not have used some explicatives...LOL)

It's worth it though, and remember that there will be *more* tops and purses out there in newer and fabber (is that a word?? LOL) styles when you are done!

Is it wrong if I say that is a mighty fine tank and cognac bags are forever? I am sorry, that is just my opinion. But if SYC it must be, SYC it is. Stay strong, Rae!

I was not very good at SYC when I tried previously. It ended up as a shop less often challenge instead. But I did learn a lot about my habits, how often I shopped, why I shopped, how much clothing I really have, and how much of that I actually wear. One thing SYC did get me to do that I never did before, work on mixing up outfits more often. Maybe challenge yourself to come up with new combinations on a periodic basis to keep your clothes feeling fresh and interesting. Chin up, and you will be done with SYC in no time.

Hahaha! Partly for me SYC was hard because I'm so contrary - the second I made a rule that I couldn't shop, I wanted to break it. Now I'm less itchy to buy all the time. I will say that tank is so tempting - it is hard to find a tank with that silhouette that is not a racerback!
