Just to clarify, the surgery has nothing to do with my heart. (Thank goodness) It's a hysterectomy because I have a big bunch of uterine fibroids. My GP took an EKG as part of my pre-op clearance (my blood pressure was up a bit), and that showed an abnormality.
Since then, I've discovered my sister has had the same thing turn up in an EKG a few years ago, with no follow-up. Everything *should* be OK. The abnormality is a very common one that does not necessarily indicate deeper problems, but I guess they need to play it safe before putting me on an operating table!
