I was mostly good, probably because I'd ordered things right before going SYC so I got to open them during! I did buy a few things on ebay, but after being told it's dopemine-ing my brain, I am developing an aversion to the site. I'm not your bitch, ebay!!!

I bought some speckled leggings today at BigLots for $3.50 and $2.00 socks - does that count?? I also had a previous order coming from before SYC but it turned out to be a dud and will be returned. I suppose that opens the loophole for the right skinny cords that will fit, so I guess I got a SYC reprieve for this item . . .

Oh, but I did manage a few hours in a 'real' mall with nary a soda purchased!

I'm holding strong so far. I did cram in a few last minute purchases at the end of September, but so far I've been able to hold on. Seven days and counting. The key for me is NOT LOOKING at anything online, although I did just put something on my Ebay watch list. sigh.

I'm still in limbo - I am SYS-ing and I had a long-standing agreement with myself that I can buy myself a present when I succeed in getting a job, so I *can* buy, but I can't decide which items take priority. I pared down my watch list to DIY bag materials and shearling-lined boots. But I don't want to pull the trigger on those, either, because I know I'll be shopping with the YLF LA crew soon.

I did really well although I did exchange a few mediocre pre-SYC blouses for two truly fab animal print belts. Because it was no net new expense, I'm calling it good.

I had a ton of temptation, though!

I really want some items in AT's 40% off sale right now. I have to keep looking away. Thank goodness it'll be over by end of the weekend.

I've realised that including shoes in my SYC is a recipe for abject failure. So, shoes aside, going strong since June! If you include shoes, I've been a complete disaster since mid September. Being in Paris destroyed my shoe resolve.

My continued success can be attributed to:

1) Long hours in the hospital
2) No one making boots I like

Come on, manufacturers, I have return of service money burning a hole in my pocket!

1) The dieting is going great: no wine or desserts, getting and enjoying my exercise.

2) SYC, not so good: I bought the Target boots seen on the YLF forum http://www.target.com/p/Women-.....A-12334698. My left-click-on-the-submit-order-button finger was twitching and itching and I caved under the dopamine rush and I am still feeling the buzz of anticipation waiting for UPS and thinking about tearing into the package. It was a fairly cheap thrill, but I already have a great collection of boots.

I am disappointed in myself.

I did have a minor succes. After everyone told me how cute i look in tweed shorts, I went home and begged my mom to alter an old pair of pants for me. She's a saint and did that plus cut on of her old pants. I debuted them first day of school and I am amazed by their practicality! will post a wiw. Alterations are fair games in SYC. Also , I bough a pair of shoes and a dress, but since they are wedding gear, they don't matter!

Am returning the impulse leggings/tights so I'm still in the clear

OK...returned the Lucky shirt that broke my SYC (it looked kind of blah)...so I'm in the clear for 3 weeks now. C'mon November 1 so I can claim one month!
