SYC - dress version (pic heavy)

I spent 2.5 hours on Saturday "shopping my closet" for new outfit combinations.
Tell me what works and what doesn't.

All the combos are something I haven't worn together before. A few pieces are new and I haven't worn them yet.

Please forgive my bedhead and no makeup.....lol

LOVE 2,4,6 and 9! Those are fantastic. The others are fine but just don't speak to me the same way.

I'm so glad you like #2. I really like this sweater (got it a year ago) and have a hard time wearing it. Just not sure what to wear it with.

dress in 5-8 was made for me by a friend at work. I love it, but it is completely sleeveless and open in the back so in order to wear it to work I gotta find the right jacket.

I like 4, 6, 7, and 9 the best. Have you tried the olive jacket in #7 with dress #1? How about the red cardi in #2 with the print dress? I think I'd like to see nude fishnets or bare legs with the print dress made by your friend, or maybe a grey boot. All the black with it seems too heavy. You might try a thinner belt with the jacket in #7.
Number 9 is my favorite.

Is it the same dress in 1-4? It looks the best in #2 and 4 because you have added something not balck into the mix. If you add chunky pearls and change black boots for some other color in ##1 and 3 I think they will look much better.
It seems as a nice dress in ##5-8 but for me it has too summery feel: maybe because all these bold colors are on the white background? If Iwere to wear this dress now I woud try a sheer hose and lighter boots or shoes - I think all that black down there throws this dress out of balance.
Nice color and texture mixture in #9 - this is my favorite of the lot!

I need to get a cute set of chunky pearls (or regular purles). I do seem to be missing that staple in my jewelry box

boots, I only have black, brown and grey

I'll try different hose for floral dress.

Okay, here is my two cents: I dislike floral black hose, so I cannot be objective about those :), but I like the general idea of the dress with boots in 1, 3, and 4. Especially love the jacket in 4--it fits you very well and looks very current. I think I would prefer to see the red fluffy cardigan with blue denim and maybe some brown boots, to sort of dress it down a bit. I think the print dress is just too summery to wear with all of the black. It just looks discordant to my eyes. I think I would wear it with a denim jacket and some light-colored boots, or some metallic sandals. I really like the last look.

A few weeks ago I bought a black sheath dress about that length, and the consensus was it was too short, and I took it back. I came across the photos a day or two ago and went "Whoa! Yeah -- that dress WAS too short!" So maybe I'm really sensitized to it, but dress 1-4 looks too short to me.

it is a tad short, but I feel comforatable with it in hose. I'm tall, so it is sooooo hard to find dresses that come all the way to the knee

i need to check the hemline and see if it can be let out any at all
