SYC Cheat

So I just pressed the buy button for two of the J Jill silk button front shirts (http://www.jjill.com/jjillonli.....&sk=P) - one in Juniper and one in Loganberry.

I decided I was not willing to risk losing my petite sizes in the colours I wanted for the sake of SYC. So....sue me!

lol! I bought two shirts the other day too.... But I am returning them (not for syc) but at home the shoulder didn't fit as well as I thought. So not perfect is going back. Apparently SYC just makes me shop for other things... DH has gotten 3 new prs jeans and 5 new shirts this month....

ETA just looked at those j Jill, love the juniper and loganberry colors I wouldn't risk it either, and you have been needing blouses.... Total enabler here no apology!

Shannon! You are too funny:) Now I don't feel so bad about confessing I bought a gorgeous black and white polka dot, pussy bow Peter Morrissey blouse on the weekend! I couldn't help myself. Will post to see if it's ok, otherwise it will go back.

Shannon, I ordered the loganberry and the coral/orange colored one last week. I went back and looked at them at least 5 times before I finally ordered.

As you gave similar advice to me on my Nexx blouse, I can't say I blame you. Thwarting well thought out, valid purchases to fill holes is not the purpose of SYC. If it helps, I triple-cheated with the rationale being that they won't *get* here until the end of May Madness...

I can't wait to see those colors on you! If they fit, I am predicting some great company for Rocky!

Dianthus - I'll be anxiously awaiting your post on these blouses. I think those colours will look gorgeous on you.

Rita - the pink pumps are gorgeous but not inexpensive. I'd still be thinking it over too.

I think SYC is a success if we even force ourselves to slooow down and think looong and hard -- like you did here

I'm also hoping that I'll be hanging onto some SYC-ish thinking and criteria well beyond just May.

What good would it really do if we (by that I mean *I*) go back to old ways come June 1st (with my old ways being: buy now, decide later. . . ). I make a lot of work and use up a lot of time when I'm too easy with the purchases. Not to mention the way my closet never settles down. . .

Anyway, no beating yourself up because of one good purchase in a month!

Who was it who posted these? I'm trying to remember her name, but I definitely remember her avatar. This is truly a fab find, imo.

Meanwhile TS - I don't think this is a 'cheat' - it's one of those 'can't pass up' deals, especially when it comes to getting the right sizes. Seems to me these are almost all-season blouses too.

You made a smart move, as far as I'm concerned. Will you let us know what you think when they arrive?

Excellent point MNsara - I don't want to go back to my old ways of shopping without thought. I really do think I've gotten a lot out of this month and the experience and hope to continue to be careful and less wasteful with my purchases.

I just saw MPJ's avatar on the main forum, and instantly remembered that it was her who mentioned these blouses.

I think I'm going to get a couple of these myself. They aren't 'quite right' for my need for a casual summer capsule, but at this price? Cannot pass them up. I can see wearing them from the end of September right on through next May. CPW is going to be quite minimal as far as I'm concerned. Once again - I do think it was smart to buy a couple of these.

I really hope they fit 'cause I can see them tucked into my various skirts for work, untucked with my white jeans for work, and over top of my skinny jeans with sandals for casual. And like you, I think they will transition well into fall/winter underneath blazers. Shall we both keep our fingers crossed VC?

Not really a cheat as you have
a) had on your closet hole list for so very long
b) resisted other actual temptations (gray dress, handbag, red pants....) because you needed blouses
c) thought this through and only bought after research and a few hours of considering.

That's just smart shopping - not shopping for the thrills. Thrill shopping is an A-OK approved practice occasionally but when it takes over the closet, it can lead us down the wrong path...(and I have been down those paths....).

Not only were they a great sale price but they have a code for an additional discount. I think mine worked out to about $20 each. i also ordered a cropped sweater in a cotton linen blend in a softer shade of the loganberry. i plan to wear the shirt, cardi and my purple halogen skirt for a tonal look.

I threw in a pair of shorts since I need a pair.
