Swimsuits for a figure 8 shape??

So, I asked Imogen on fb if I was a V or an 8. She said V at first in some clothing, but other's makes me more of an 8 shape. So maybe I'm a cross between both. I'm needing to shop for a swimsuit soon, but last years monokini made me look to hippy. My hips looked terrible! What style should I go for. I'm not real comfortable showing off my belly just yet. Were getting ready to leave for California in May for my husbands space training then we will be in Colorado at our base for the summer. I need to get a swimsuit quick! I also posted 2 links of suits that interest me, would they work?

Both are cute, and I think your figure will allow you to wear just about any suit. You definitely look hourglass to me. My only concern with the lace suit would be if you will be swimming with your young children. I have three children myself, and they sometimes pull on mom, which could be tricky in a strapless! Additionally, I wonder how well the lace would hold up overall (snagging, chlorine degradation, etc.). I almost think you could find a happy medium between the coverage of the first and the strapless lace of the second...

I am a 8-shaped pear, but I generally stick to bikinis for various reasons so don't have much experience with one-pieces. However, I think if I were to go for a one-piece, #1 and #7 from Angie's roundup here would be very flattering.

PS - I like a bra style top (like, with an underwire and some support). It makes your boobs look better and balances out the hips.

Ty for your suggestions Your probably right about the lace. I love the link u posted Deana! Those are great choices with the exception of a few that wouldn't work to cover up my bum or chest. I like the underwire support as well. It looked like suit two had it though.

I've seen that the retro look has come back,, like the high waisted. Would that look good on an hourglass 8 shape?

As far as two piece suits go, I think the high waisted retro style would look great on an hourglass like you. I also think they tend to be more practical than other two-piece suits if a person is actually going to be in the water or play with children.
