Swimsuit update - what color should I try? ETA Got it!

I went into another two departement stores today to try more swimsuits. I think I was in there for over two hours! Almost all were a complete fail, I'm not sure what those designers are thinking. One thing is clear now though - manufacturers don't want to sell swimsuits that are sporty AND modest. Seriously, the way most of them were cut was ridiculous...

But, I found one that seems promising near the end. It wasn't one I would have tried if I'd only seen the pic on the website, but it was in that big pile and definitely today's winner by far. It was not perfect, but it was alright for a sports swimsuit. Unfortunately the 40 was just a tad too big, and when I tried the 38 (or what I thought was the 38) I almost cried because it was so small. But I was lucky - I discovered that it was mislabelled and in fact a 36. They didn't have the 38, but I really want to try it so I thought I'd order online.

What do you think, what color should I go for? I so hope this size works out!

Thanks Sona! It was the only swimsuit in that store that had both crossed straps and no huge cut-out in the back.

I like it too! Any of these colours, although I would probably just choose black.

Thanks Ceit! They did have the black in the store, it wasn't as unflattering as black normally is on me because the pattern made it less harsh.

That is nice! What is funny, before I clicked on the link, and you wanted modest but not frumpy, I was thinking, she needs a classic swimmer's suit, and that is exactly what you found!

As a former competitive swimmer I have had a million speedos and have always found the brand to hold up well. I like the blue for you! I think it will look quite pretty with your light skin and redish hair and less stark than the black.

I think the black or the blue/teal color would be great for you Astrid. I kind of lean towards the black but I'm not sure why.

Thanks Kiki! You're right, this is really a classic swimmer's suit - I think it will be perfect for exercising. My main problem was finding a one-piece suitable for sports that wasn't too revealing on my figure.

Thanks Texstyle! I think I'm going to order the teal/blue, it will probably be more flattering on my pale skin than the black.

I finally got it and it worked out alright. It has a bit less rear coverage than the bigger size, but it fits right and it's enough. I think I won't feel uncomfortable in this one.
