Sweatshirt dress: this would probably be a mistake, right?

For some reason, I keep considering this sweatshirt dress…even though it's non-returnable and would probably be an expensive mistake. What is the general opinion on such dresses? Too casual and high frump potential? Or a comfy fun alternative?

I like it but cotton sags. Even thick cotton sweatpants will bag out somewhere. How would you know where exactly this dress would bag out, to judge how you'd feel about that? Not being able to try it on is a bummer.

ETA: oh wait, I see it has 5% spandex. Well then, probably fine.

On my monitor, it comes up beige just to the pinkish side, which is the one I search out. Good for folks who like to wear cooler colors. Lotta money, though, for a light colored sweatshirt. Wouldn't lots of companies make something like this that could also be returned?

Yeah, I read it as a pinkish beige, too, Vildy - but Nancy just had her colours done and is supposedly a spring so should veer warmer in her colours. I think this would be SS for her. Not necessarily for me or you. But I share your concerns about bag-out -- for me it would be in the bum area. OTOH, for a loungewear capsule if you have a lot of $$$, maybe? I can see it as being super comfy, for sure.

IK, I've been eyeing the JP ones on Nordstrom's website. They look a little thin, though. I wouldn't want to have to worry about lumps and bumps showing.

How is the fit?

It depends on the style and cut. They size 1, 2, 3, 4, with 1 being about a 2 and 4 being about a 8/10. I find them flowy and comfy, both.

I'm not so keen on this particular one, which isn't to say that you couldn't find one that works - I think it would need to be a bit more avant-garde/arty to make it work. This one looks kind of bleh...

I think the sweatshirt dress itself is cute and comfy (I would wear it), but I think the fit would have to be right on for it not to look frumpy. If it doesn't fit, you could sell it on eBay.

I hate to say it, but it looks like the short version of a robe my mother used to own. Don't spring for this one, there are much more fluid and chic relaxed knit dresses out there.
