A few years back (5? 10?) -- the Pandemic distorted my sense of time -- it was when Una was around because IIRC she bought these. Were those sweatpants that looked like jeans these ones from Rag & Bone? And how did they turn out if anyone remembers? The $155 for sweats or even jeans is too rich for my blood, but if I could score them on markdown. . .although I'm not sure I could even get a fit. I made a return today at my closest Nordstrom, but the sales associate did not know what I was talking about.

Ah, are you talking about jeggings?
I remember when they were popular (I also had a pair), there were arguments over whether they classify as jeans ('proper' trousers) or leggings (to be worn like hosiery, under longer tops) lol.

Or do you mean 'jogger jeans' (with elasticated cuffs - & sometimes an elasticated waistband)?

Yess, I fondly remember Alaskagirl(Una:-)) and her sweat jeans---which never showed up in my neck of woods undortunately and always wondered if the actual fabric was true sweats and only looking like jeans because of color, distress, pockets and stichings???-or were just regular jeans lined in sweats for the cold? (thos of which I have seen at that time). Sorry that wasn't much of a help...

I think several forum members apart from Una bought them at the time (about 9 years ago), for example Cocolion/Denise, goldenpig, and Rae as well.
They were also called pajama jeans, and yes, from Rag & Bone.

I tried these 4-5 years ago and thought they were new then! But they were showing up here 9 years ago? Wow!!

I ultimately returned the ones I ordered (the Miramar wash), but I can't remember why. Probably it was a mix of price point for what I was getting and not liking them enough in reality vs. what they looked like online.

I remember those posts! I found a similar pair at Macy’s (did not end up buying them), and from what I remember the ones I found were more like soft denim jeans lined with sweatpants, with an elastic waist.

I saw some rag and bone ones at the Rack a couple of months ago. They do feel like sweatpants and the print is pretty convincing. I had no interest in buying but they were interesting to see IRL

I have some jeans like this from EF. They are joggers and my go to winter jeans. Too warm for summer. I highly recommend them for warmth and comfort. Mine are a sort of faded denim. They go with any top and boot.

I bought one pair two years ago and found myself living in them, and promptly bought two more as soon as they went on deep discount a year later. They are sweatpants but definitely pass for jeans, so they are comfortable but look nicer than regular sweatpants. I wear them to many kinds of activities/events.

Not only do I remember them — I have a pair that I actually bought from Una! I think it was her second pair and they didn’t fit her right so she sold them to me. I wore them a ton during the early “stay at home” days of the pandemic. Since then, not so much, but they do come in handy for days at home, road trips, etc. They’re super comfy.

I was intrigued with the wide leg version R&B put out a couple of years ago, but when I ordered a pair, it turned out they were cut quite large and I never bothered to order a smaller size.

This looks like the type of thing you could try for at Poshmark for not much cost. I would guess "jogger jeans," like people are saying.

My closets are rather ridiculously overflowing, so those gray sweats aren't a need but a serious wantsy. Maybe if they are still around close to Christmas?

I have collected images of these joggers too. I think I love them. If I find a pair in my price point I would fer sure get them.
However, I am tall and wonder what I need to consider for a jogger to fit me.....

If you are tall be careful. I am short 5'3" and these joggers just fit in length. They are old and have been through washer and hot dryer. They could be a bit longer and fit better when I sit down.

I still have mine because they have an elastic waist and are low rise.

Watch for them on EF Renew. These are used clothes that have been fixed and sold at a reduced rate. I have been pleased white what I have purchased. It can be returned in most cases if it doesn't work.

I think the Rag & Bone version is absolutely the coolest, but have only tried a couple of cheaper versions myself. For me they turned out to be strictly very casual wear, possibly because not the actual real cool thing, and possibly because I don't quite have the swagger to dress them up. I may still have a pair from American Eagle in my fall/winter wardrobe that's still put away for now. Doing a quick google it looks like you are more likely to find actual denim joggers currently, rather than knit ones.

@kkards: I only had time to watch the vlogger just past where she showed the Jammie jeans. She’s fairly tall? I was surprised she said she usually takes a Large.

@Jonesy: Don’t be an enabler!!! I think the more I know I’ll be retiring soon, the more I want to (and do) buy.

Ooh I see what you mean now! I actually had a pair of cheaper jeggings with that same 'bird poo' screenprinted 'staining' that I wore to death (until I had my colours 'diagnosed') - I can see how a 'proper' jeans version (looks like denim jogging pants) would be more versatile than my stretchy leggings. Especially for your style, Donna!

DonnaF—-I’m not sure how tall etc this YouTuber is, she’s someone I only kinda watch, but this video stuck in my head because of these “jeans”…and my YLF memories

so….full honesty-after this post I went back to the Rag & Bone website to look at them again, and they were 25% off, so, yes, I ordered them and they are winging there way to me. I’ll update when they arrive.

@kkards: You MUST model them after they arrive. Since I’m short with extra short legs, wide legs can make me look as wide as I am tall. You should look fab, though!

Bad case of FOMO. I ordered them. At full price. This is my regular size (XS/0-2). Of course they are a bit too long, but I figure I have a bit of leeway in case they accidentally end up in the dryer.

DH wants a pair(!) because the idea of sweats that look like jeans really appeals to him. He’s under 5’ 6” so the length would work for him. . .
