SURVEY: Polyvore Anyone?

Do you use Polyvore to create visual outfits? We have done so every once in a while (see example attached) and we wondered how many YLF members are doing this too.

If you are doing so (or have done so in the past) please share a link to your Polyvore creations in this thread.

Also, if you use any other similar tool for creating outfit visuals, please share that too.

I like Polyvore as well as PInterest. I haven't tried making a set yet though. Still learning the ins and outs. Doesn't Lynn use it?

I love the concept of these tools and used them a couple of times when My Shape was in business (they had a tool on their website but you could only add certain items). However I haven't used Polyvore lately although I might have joined them.

Now I use Pinterest but not for outfit creation, for inspiration boards. These are two I am working on:

I have done a handful but could never figure out how to import my own items, so I switched over to Closetcouture to catalog my own items. I still need to put some time into it.

I occasionally look at polyvores for inspiration but I don't create my own. It took me too long to figure out how to use it to create something I could be proud of. I'm sure it gets easier as you do it more and get used to the process, I just don't have that much time to mess with it.

I have a polyvore account that I never used. Apparently I had opened an account 2 years ago and forgot all about it. I'm loving the pinterest also. Modgrl and Jem I'll check you site outs too.

I only use Polyvore for outfit inspiration and it has helped me locate hard to find items.

While I don't use Polyvore myself, I wanted to say that I *love* looking at Polyvore outfit combinations that others have come up with, especially Angie's formulas. I find it much easier to 'get' what the idea/formula is saying when I see it in a Polyvore layout somehow.

I wanted to add that I mainly use my closetcouture for when I want to do a mock up to see how a wish list item would play with my current wardrobe. I don't check out other outfit sets, and the only closet I browse is Mo's.

I have never used any of them but adore when you guys use it. I have a beautiful picture as an inspiration that I can replace the items with what is in my closet and see if it works.

I've made exactly one set on Polyvore because i wanted to add it to Pinterest. I visit off and on when i'm looking for inspiration on using a specific item i already have or something i'm considering purchasing but not 100% sold on.

I've never used Polyvore for outfit creation, but do visit the site regularly for inspiration: either to see which combinations people come up with for a particular item, or to see what they are doing with a new trend.

I believe several YLF'ers use Photoshop to edit their pictures and put together collages? Before posting a pic, I also quickly run it through Photoshop to adjust the lighting and crop an image. Only the very basic stuff, though, I'd love to learn how to use it properly. (it's on my to-do list;-)

I also love seeing Polyvore style collages and Lyn's Stylebook outfit posts. I haven't had the time to start learning how to do those but would love to be able to do it someday. For now I just posted some of my wardrobe contents in Pinterest at http://pinterest.com/goldenpig/, but even that is a little old--I haven't updated it in a month or two. I would spend so much more time doing fashion-related stuff if I could, but I still have a bunch of work and family life to tend to first!

I love seeing what others have created but don't use it myself. It's just too much time I could spend doing other things... like posting on here or doing some knitting or sewing. I see how it could be fun and addictive, though!

I'm not familiar enough with how Polyvore works to use it, but I love looking at others' sets.

I've been playing with Stylebook, but I can't get my pictures to work right so I've given up in aggravation for now:)

I have a really difficult time picturing outfits without seeing them on an actual human being - when I see just the items put together, I can't really muster up much inspiration or excitement about the outfits. I AM registered on Polyvore, but have not done much with it at all. I am a pinterest fan!
