Well, I’ve not been having great success on the search for brown booties or brown bag that quite fit the color, quality, and vibe I’m seeking. But yesterday I was poking around the local shops and tried on these trousers on a whim. They have a nice drape, and a great low-contrast navy/black/small bit of tan windowpane plaid. I have thought about a pair of trousers to throw into the mix as a break from all my denim, but have always defaulted to solid black.
To my surprise these work really well on me! I’m not an easy fit in trousers. But these skim the hip nicely, are easy through the thighs, have a moderate rise, fit the waist without need for tailoring, and are long enough to wear with a low heel! So they came home with me. They’d dress up of course if I need that, but I plan on wearing them casually with tees, denim or leather jackets, sneakers, and boots.
A lesson in trying things when you see them, even if it’s not what you’re actively looking for!
