Surprise Trip to Salt Lake/Ogden

I just found out I'm going to Salt Lake City (Ogden) Monday-Wednesday next week. It's looking pretty chilly by my standards, with highs around freezing and lows around 20F, with chances of snow.

I'm not terribly worried about clothing; I'm going to keep it super simple and cozy. But I figured I'd run this by y'all for a sanity check. There will be a day and a half of meetings in a fairly casual environment.

Wool/wool-ish knit dresses to travel in and wear to meetings
Blackout tights
Ecco waterproof boots
The Great White puffer
Gloves

I may wear "fur" lined leggings and a more casual dress on the way out on Monday, since meetings don't begin until Tuesday.

I’m in SLC. Our loft is downtown. It is snow everywhere and temperatures way below freezing all week. Park City even colder. But the sun came out when we were in Park City, which was fab for Sundance!

WRAP UP. You need a scarf and beanie.

It’s better today. Only -2C. Not -10C.

I don't have beanies, because they don't really fit on my head and hair! But the hood on my puffer is a good one, and I have knitted bands that I tie around my head and ears. Good reminder. And I will bring a scarf or two. Thanks for the reminders and the pictures! And I will try to take pictures. The hotel will probably have much better mirrors and lighting than I have at home!

Ginger, head band and hood is good! You feel SOOO much better when your head, feet and neck are very warm and insulated.

Sometimes I wear vest under the puffer coat ( when in Moscow, Russia ) for extra insulation - it adds slightly to the bulk and stops cold air from getting under the coat. Sporty vest ( not down ) is very useful piece for traveling as well.
You fave pretty dresses in you trip collection and "fur" lined leggings sounds amazing!

I don't remember ever feeling cold as a kid growing up in SLC until I started at the U of U, in the foothills, where the cold breeze coming down off the Wasatch Mountains made it even more frigid.

And back then girls wore dresses to school. No pants allowed!

Now you know one of the reasons I live in California!
