I liked to play dressup when I was a kid, and I would wobble around the house in my mom's heels, and that was it. I was happy PRETENDING to be an adult for a little while, not actually being one. The idea of indoctrinating little girls from the earliest point possible to feel inadequate without heels just irks me. Don't enough fully grown women have that problem already? I know I sound all uptight and serious but I really feel like this obsession we have with heels, and super high ones at that, is pretty disturbing. I was hoping we could at least leave the children out of this.
And then there are all the problems with those little feet. I don't know. When I think of all the reasons women wear heels (to elongate the leg, to look sexy, to feel authoritative), none of them exactly seem relevant to a kid.
It's fine if it's just once in a while, for a special occasion or something like that...but if it's a habit, not cool at all.
